Best wishes to Jim for a speedy and full recovery.
Jim, your website has been a significant part of my life for several years, since I first had the good fortune to find it mentioned in the Wall Street Journal. You have contributed immeasurably to public discussion, and you have provided a venue for conservatism to develop and thrive in all of its facets, in our public as well as our private lives. For those of us whose values have been evolving, you have been an immeasurably-valuable resource.
I hope that you are back with us full time, quickly and for many years to come.

When you wake up in the morning its a good day already..
Strokes, heart attacks and "other things" tend to make you grateful for another day..

“How about a fundraiser? He HAS provided a way of life...”
Sounds good. I’m in. How about we have a “Jim Rob” day. We set a day and a goal and do a party thread for pledgers. Perhaps a Mod-Admin would help out with a sticky thread for the day. 24 hours, midnight to midnight.

I highly recommend the book
Best Care Anywhere: Why VA Health Care Is Better Than Yours, by Philip Longman. It will
almost make you believe in socialized medicine. It will definitely make you understand that health care needs some major changes.
In the current health care industry, almost everyone benefits more -- financially -- from giving health care than from supporting health. The VA has found a way to align incentives so that the emphasis is on health (through prevention and proper management of chronic illness) rather than on dispensing care.
Jim, I wish you only the very best. It sounds like you're in the right place.

God bless you Jim. May you heal quickly. Another FReeper indicated (to me) he has the same medical condition as you - prayers up for both of you. Your positive attitude is inspirational.

Prayers said, Jim, hoping for a speedy recovery and lifted spirits.
