I hope Rush is right, but even he doesn’t deny where we’re going in 08.
Initially it looks like a great idea to electronically reject any one who is an illegal. But of course this is the Federal govt. we are talking about. Nothing is ever as it seems and this time is no exception.
In addition to checking on only “new hires” and exempting those “zillions of illegals already hired” the bill has a few other little zingers pointed out by a terrific article in Human Events by William Campennini and referenced on FR by our own EC and MNJ with some assists from Ali Veritas as well yesterday. One of the zingers is to get rid of any local law enforcement which as we all know here is basically all there is right now since the Fed/politicos are not really “too serious” about getting rid of what they consider a new emerging voting block.
The article is here and is well worth the read.
They are running 'conservatives' who will vote lib when they get to DC - just like in '06 - and the pubbies mightbe finally getting the message.
Politically, we're still screwed, though.
The pendulum will swing back someday, but not this election. See, I'm not entirely negative!
Thanks for posting...I’ll take a peek later before I prepare my letter to the McCain campaign. I already blasted the lady from the RNC on the phone on Thursday. She just laughed and said—do you know I hear this all day long?
Make sure you stop by Numbers USA later on HR 5515.
“Democratic strategist Bob Shrum.
Why does anyone care what this dweeb says?”
Let’s hope he joins the Obama campaign this year.
Morning rodguy911. Sun is out here so I presume it’s hot where you are.
Oops, time to change computers. Be back in a bit.
Guess who realized the surge was working?

As stated in comments, this is a reverse op. Mission accomplished so get out... nicely timed with the AG and immigration crap jammed in the Iraq bill).
I hate being pessimistic as well! It pays to point out absurdities from time to time but the best course of action is always to stir up and support more conservatives both locally and nationally.
Last week I got a chance to jump on the bandwagon of a new candidate locally who has a stellar resume and is wiling to get things done locally. I shall and will support him as best I can and urge everyone to do the same in their own hometowns.
Ronald Reagan II is out there. It's up to us to find him and support him/her!
Anyone see a transcript or video of the Bush speech re: World Economic Forum?
Will do (I forgot the cookies once again—please slap me now)
Riiight.
You are SO right, that we need to find and support local candidates who are good conservatives. We have a major rebuilding of the party if we want to win again.
The sad aspect of this coming election is the census will be done in 2010, and we KNOW the Democrats will Gerrymander districts to benefit themselves, as they have done in the past.
His PR firm takes 15% of every advertising dollar spent by the campaigns that he works on. He wins no matter who wins the election.
Good morning, all.
Jim Webb uses China as an example of the wonders of diplomacy as, he says, we have arguably brought them into the world.
How is that working out for us?
High on the list is the govt. of Iraq who dares take our budget money that she could be using to buy votes with to rebuild their country. The nerve!
She is reportedly fuming about our rebuilding of Iraq and is demanding that Iraq start spending more of their own money so she can get to the business of buying more votes for more socialists.
After all piglosi knows good govt. when she sees it!!
Morning AB, All....
I return more healed than last week, less healed than two weeks from today.
When I shall be able to drive again, by the way, an activity that is way under-rated as I see it.
This week, I study appeasement and wonder why our President, who finally spoke up by the way, doesn’t put out to us fools out here in la-la land why the notion of conversing intelligently with thugs, thieves and terrorists would be like the judge sitting down with Charles Manson and discussing his crimes and how to best deal with same.
Ah...that’s right. The political elites don’t speak our language do they?
My Enemy of the Week this week would be Mort Kondrake of the Beltway Boys.
This man, who I USED to respect, carried on like a tiny baby over Bush’s comments in Israel and how it just wasn’t right for Bush to be talking about Hitler and the Holocaust, no that was just a terrible thing.
Now I know that Mort Kondrake, the idiot and fool, is way smarter than my own humble self, but someone whisper in this man’s ear....
BUSH WAS SPEAKING FOR THE ANNIVERSARY OF ISRAEL!!!
Yes, THAT Israel! The country formed after the Holocaust to welcome the refugess betrayed by their own countrymen, the remnants of families eviscerated by....duh...HITLER.
Kondrake says this was inappropriate.
They think we are all idiots out here in la-la land, do they not?
