Texas: Plano man Joe Barron, 52, a minister at Prestonwood Baptist Church near Dallas, was arrested after driving nearly 200 miles to Bryan to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl he had been chatting with sexually online for roughly two weeks.
The girl was actually an undercover agent leading police to Barron and his car, inside of which they found condoms and a web-cam. He had been with the 26,000-member church for 18 months; they said this was the first incident of this type with Barron.
Executive pastor Mike Buster said, "We are disturbed and saddened by the reports we have heard and we are praying for the Barron family," adding that they are giving police their full cooperation. He is currently out on bond from Brazos County Jail.
So, you dont know for fact that it is a Fact, but because you read it in a book it must be?
Seriously?
By what you had said at first, I thought you had something more concrete to base your assertations on

Yes, seriously. Ann is a constitutional lawyer not to be confused with Mike Barnicle, Joe Biden, or any other plagiarists and liars. If I hadn’t packed the book away to keep it at my vacation home, I would pull the direct quote, and cite the page number or Ann’s reference. Rest assured its true

One good argument for napalm.
Not in the last 20 years. I think I remember the one you are talking about where they converted an auto mall into a church. But I can't recall the details.
I think Ken is right - it was a Lutheran church that bought the car dealership.
This guy is going to jail not being reassigned to the Vatican.
As time goes by, I'm more inclined to believe that churches are nothing more than individual cults following the words of their respective pastors or priests preaching the gospel to people who have a need to believe in God and Christ. With that need comes a questionable devotion to the minister of that particular church and who we are seeing time and time again that that person is nothing more than a snake oil salesman..........
I don't know where to go from here, I was attending a church for over a year and felt comfortable there but there is something about the pastor that just does not fit right with me. I can't explain it, it's just a gut feeling........so I stopped going last November.
You have to look beyond terrible incidents as these.
I have been a member of Prestonwood for over three years now, and while this incident has shaken me, I’m not about to indict this wonderful church over the sins of one minister. I don’t know Joe Barron, have just talked to him briefly a few times at church, and am as stunned as I can be over this.
Nevertheless, PW is a wonderful church and I thank God for it and for Pastor Jack Graham and pray that Joe Barron will somehow put his life back together one day.
No, you don’t look beyond incidents such as is described in the article. You look straight at them and the judgement that caused such a man to be hired by the church. You openly discuss the cause and pray, as a congregation, for God’s direction.

You seem to have no idea what the subject was, your posts don’t address my comment to the other poster.
Pay attention before you get worked up.
Why pick a fight when there is none? I have never engaged in Catholic bashing of any sort.
Don't bet on it.
No accounting for weird tastes.
Yah, but there are some politicians who'll tell you the Internet is safer because they're registering sex-offender e-mail addresses and IDs. I tried to look up some statistics on this (as part of some policy research), but the best I could find were hints that only 1 out of 10 caught in these stings are registered sex offenders.
I like to see them caught too. I jsut wish Chris would get a dose of his own medicine. He just strikes me as the kind of guy who is begging to get knocked down a couple of pegs.
Just remember, when you go to sell your property others will look at the same and make their purchase decisions.
Well then what the heck church am I thinking of that is so huge out on Northwest Highway? Maybe it’s Park Cities Baptist. Haven’t been to Dallas in so long my memory may be faulty. I live in Plano but have never seen this other church. Ha ha - being an Episcopalian may have something to do with it.
