WHDH TV reports (via MSNBC) that Sen. Ted Kennedy has been airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital. Reuters reports that he was showing signs of a stroke and was sent to a Cape Cod hospital first and was then airlifted to Massachusetts General.

Fox now reporting his hospitalization.

I strongly dislike Senator Kennedy and the things he has done and what he stands for, but I wish him good health and happiness. And I hope he retires from the Senate. I'll even pay for it (along with everyone else).

The Governor no longer has the power to appoint some one to replace a US senator. When it looked like John “I served in Vietnam “ had a good chance to win the White house, The corrupt State House change the law so that a Repub. Governor “Rommney” would not be able to pick a Repub.
That power resides with the State legislators of whom 95% are Dems.
