MODERATOR'S NOTE: NOT THE TIME AND PLACE FOR CERTAIN COMMENTS. YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT
WHDH TV reports (via MSNBC) that Sen. Ted Kennedy has been airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital. Reuters reports that he was showing signs of a stroke and was sent to a Cape Cod hospital first and was then airlifted to Massachusetts General.

I hope he is doing well. (I reserve the right to make jokes if he has a full recovery.)

God Bless him and his family.
He has not looked well for years and when I see him screaming Red Faced I fear something this would happen.

This is a man who has spent his entire career straining every fiber of his being to supress and defeat everything that I love about America. Why he has done this is a mystery to me. He grew up enjoying the lifestyle and priveledges historically reserved for royalty.
I wish him no physical harm. I do hope he is removed from his position of influence.

As much as I dislike him & everything he stands for we have to maintain some degree of kindness & class. It’s what separates us from the savages.
We will all have a lot to answer for one day.

I saved MINE for his victim.

“Stroke-like symptoms” could indicate he's suffered a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack), sometimes called a “mini stroke”.
If this is the case, he should be able to recover fully. I know a man in his 90’s who had one a few months ago, and he's fine now, but at greater risk for a larger stroke.
I hope that's the case, and I also hope the posters remember this is Free Republic, and not DU. We're called to a little higher standard than those people over there.

Thank you for putting a positive spin on the situation. I couldn’t have come up with a better one.

No he is not. His sisters are alive - Eunice Shriver and Jean Kennedy Smith.

We South Carolinians still owe him a small debt of thanks for saving our Senator Strom Thurmond from the Hildabeast stampede to get to a camera. So I do have one nice thing to say about him.
Here’s the story for those who missed it as it got next to no media coverage.
