Operation Chaos South Dakota Update

Monday May 19 by 5:00 PM is the last day to register to vote for the June 3, 2008 Presidential Primaries in South Dakota. SD is one of the last states to vote (along with New Mexico and Montana). You have to be registered within each party to vote and bring a form of ID such as a SD driver’s license. As far as I am aware there are no unconstitutional loyalty oaths that some of the other states have tried to enforce. There are 27 delegates at stake for the Reps and Dems have 15

Hilary has been to SD twice in the last two weeks, Bill was here last week and Obama showed up yesterday. I have been avoiding the local news coverage like the bird flu.

The National media has been shilling for Obama and saying he will win SD, but since it is one of the reddest of red States I doubt that.

Short political aside...True SD is responsible for former Sen. Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D) but redeemed itself by dumping him ignominiously in 2004 for his pro abortion, anti-war, Washington liberal stance. It was the first time in over 50 years that a Senate Majority or Minorty leader had been dumped. Sen. John Thune has been representing SD ably since...SD had also passed and signed into law the strictest abortion ban in the Nation but was defeated by an $8 million dollar referendum and National campaign by a flood of out of state liberal activists. Polls show South Dakotans favored the ban but it was hard to compete with the money from the propaganda and misinformation campaign targeting every single one of the 780,000 residents.

Back to Business... On the Republican ballot John McCain, Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Uncommitted still appear for President. Though Romney and Huckabee have pledged their delegates to McCain. For U.S. Senate Sam Kephart, Charles Lyonel Gonyo and Joel Dykstra are in the Republican running to go up against Rep. Tim Johnson (D) who made the National media spotlight for his stroke in 2006. There are local commissioners and state legislators within counties and regions running as well. Joel Dykstra appears to have the best organized campaign of the three but will be fighting hard in Nov. against yet another fawning media elite liberal with a sob story.

A positive side of Operation Chaos in South Dakota is prolonging the Dem. fight up until the very, very end. The negative side of operation chaos is giving up a chance to vote for which state, county or local Republican will go up against the opposition. Oh and if you vote for Hilary you may need to shower with bleach and dry off with sandpaper afterward.

Disclaimer: Sorry Rush I just couldn’t do it. Mitt Romney got my vote. As much as I want to prolong the Hilary and Obama fight I couldn’t switch. I’ll admit it openly and honestly I’ll be cowering in my basement cleaning my guns while others go over the top into the machine guns. May Operation Chaos succeed where I faltered.

Thanks for the post. Lots of people here at FR supported Thune from way back. It’s good to get an update on the situation on the ground there.

Volunteered in 2002 and 2004 for Thune, it’s was gratifying finally kicking him to the curb. I can’t do the chaos, there’s just no way I could ever allow my name to be associated with the donks.

Hillary! was here in Rapid City yesterday. Our Rapid City Journal literally gushed over her in their coverage this morning. Sickening. Methinks the new liberal owners of the paper forget this is still conservative country.

I’ll be working at the polls on June 3. I’ll watch for “Operation Chaos”.

Like you, I just cannot bring myself to vote for a Dem.

“Like you, I just cannot bring myself to vote for a Dem.”

OK, this seems to be a confession thread. I can’t get myself to register as a democrat either. But, I did order the “Operation Chaos” hat though.

Hats are good.

Just the thought of having a “D” next to my name makes we want to throw up a little bit in my mouth.

Ballots (Dem) were turned in yesterday. I hated not being able to vote for a couple of guys in the Republican local races, but for the most part, they were all pretty solid, so no real loss there.

How strange life is.
I swore yrs ago that I would never vote for any Democrat.

Now I find myself voting for a Clinton

Same here. Can’t register as a Dem. And can’t vote for a Clinton. It would take more than sandpaper, imho. Sandblasting, maybe.

BTTT. Keep up the good work.

Hillary is actually a centrist and a pragmatic normal American compared to Barack Fitzgerald Obama.

She’s only slightly to the left of her husband. Sorry to say, there isn’t much difference besides rhetoric between Bill Clinton and John McCain.

Bill was a centrist. NAFTA agreement, limiting the growth in federal spending 40% more than GW did.

Right center, left center? What’s the difference between mostly cloudy and partly sunny anyway?

Frankly, I would find it easier to vote for Hillary Clinton, than the maverick John McCain. At least Hillary is a known entity while I suspect everything John would do as President, would cause me no end of disappointment.

At present, his speeches are one surprise after another, and that is not good. His candidacy is far beyond the lesser of two evils or holding ones nose. I’m not real confident that I’m going to hear anything I would like to hear, in the time between now and November.

Since the election and impeachment of WJC, the presidency IMHO has been in serious decline, not to mention getting past partisan politics a subject John McCain is willing to bet his presidency will not be an issue.

PS, To all on a more positive note, the annual Lincoln Day Dinner in support of the SD Republican party West River Variety, will be on the 31st of May 2008 Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Rushmore Hall Tickets $60.00 Per Person.
