Maybe so and Israel needs to figure out what to do with the Gaza and Lebanon but Hamas and Hezbos were there before the elections and they are there still. We already have Iraq under control from the Iranians unless Hussein is elected and removes troops but all Israel has to do with Gaza is unplug the Electric Plant and Gaza ceases. Israel is giving Hamas political arm every chance to make an about-face but it remains unclear whether they will. I don't think the election contributed anymore or any less to who Hamas already was. It may have legitimized them a bit more but the more they screw up the less they become legitimized.

One of Obama's accomplishments is having been the first black president of the Harvard law review. Of course, they had to change the rules to have him win--before that, it was the top student, but they wanted to have a black person win.

I'd be tempted to say it's a bit like the Democratic Party picking him as their nominee, except that if you look over the Democratic presidential nominees of the last several decades, it's hard to believe that most of them were the best the Democrats had to offer.
