Peripheral vision can only take you so far, so with the jDome youll get a far better view of baddies attempting to sneak up on you and the like.
It works by using a projector to send an image of the screen to the front of the dome, where its effectively wrapped around the edges to allow the gamer to look in and around.
Extravagant perhaps, but we think its one of the most innovative developments in gaming of recent years, provided it works. Best yet John reckons the product will retail for $125 to $200 provided he receives the proper funding to start mass production.

We are going to disapear into our computers someday. But no matter how many worlds you think you are saving, you’re really just repeatedly pressing a button.
Is it called jDome because it is virtual or imaginary, as in j=-1^.5? One for mathematicians, physicists, and electrical engineers to ponder.
I imagine so....
We are going to disapear into our computers someday.....
Next step:
2 jDomes, one in back and one in front of you!....then 4!.......
Actually, I think it would have to be j=(-1)^.5. Of course the computer language would have to recognize and navigate imiginary numbers for that statement to be valid anyway.
I suspect they didn’t call it the iDome because everything is I-This or i-That because of the Apple iPod.
i=SqRt (-1).......
I need one. Think of totally immersive Pong. Whoa...
3-D Pong?......hmmmmm.....
Cool! Fuzzy, but cool!............
Half-Life2 would look very good on this. I want one for testing purposes.
Just repeatedly pushing a button. yup
and problem solving
and socially interacting with other like minded people from all over the globe
and teaching my son to read
and learning how computers work and how to code
and having a lot of fun
but yeah you’re right
I don’t know if the average first person shooter game does all that, and I didn’t mean to criticize all use of computers, and yes for many the computer is a huge fantasy world, certainly that is the case with lots of game play. And I like computer games.
