Obama to speak out on Bush 'appeasement' charge (Obama is an APPEASER)
Boston Globe ^ | 5/16/2008 | Foon Rhee

The blowup over President Bush's remarks to Israel's parliament equating talks with rogue regimes to appeasement will be front and center another day.

Barack Obama, who saw himself as the target of Bush's criticism, is expected to directly rebut the president later today at a campaign event in South Dakota.

His top foreign policy adviser, Susan Rice, said this morning on MSNBC that Obama will deliver a "very vigorous response to what was an outrageous, unprecedented, and divisive attack from President Bush yesterday which was patently dishonest."

She argued that Republican presidents, including Ronald Reagan, have talked to renegade countries. And she said Obama has made "absolutely clear" he will not deal with terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

While the White House officially denied the remarks were aimed at Obama, presumptive Republican nominee John McCain used the opportunity to argue again that Obama's willingness to negotiate shows he is naive and inexperienced in the ways of foreign policy.

Bingo.

I think he and his entourage should scream some more. Louder even.

IT’s kinda like farts: He who denied it, supplied it.

ROTFLMAO!

Hey, Barry HUSSEIN Snobama, better go put some ice on that! Sincerely, a “typical bitter white person.”

Exactly. He’ll talk to the countries that finance and organize their terrorist activities.

Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, does it?

I saw the slime bag Shuster who claimed it was an unwarranted attack against Obama even though Obama’s name wasn't mentioned.

Agreed, even Dick Morris said the presidents comments were brilliant.

He did not name, names and historically speaking his comments were right on target.

Obama stepped right into a topic he has no credibility on.

I am at my limit with this stuff! When is the g.d. American public ( mainly Republicans ) going to quit touting this cry baby and his ilk and put a stop to this PC BS! They have called Mr. Bush every vile name under the sun and openly lied for 8 years. I am mean by name. Mr. Bush doesn’t mention anyone by name ( and TELLS THE TRUTH to boot ) and we will get a response from Hussein to address this unprecedented attack? Not to mention every news media and liberal elected politician will have some meaningless remark while Republicans tuck their tails and take yet another beating.

If you cannot talk about a candidates position on issues and draw contrast and comparisons then how the heck do we get a “fair” election? Oh wait I am sorry I forgot I am talking about liberals. Forgive me I will now go back to my conservative corner and take my rightful place as a serf in their kingdom.

If Obama thinks the shoe fits he should wear it. He should take it for what it is worth, appeasement has never worked and will never work.

Bush has said essentially the same thing several times in the past before Obama was running even. It’s on the record surely. No big deal was made in the past when he said this.

Iran doesn’t negotiate so it must be appeasement.

Keith Olberfurher has gone off the deep end completely with his incoherent rants against President Bush. This morning on PMSNBS they seemed gleeful that McCain was supporting the comments Bush made.

“With Obama’s penchant for thinking that everything is about him, perhaps we should call him Maxi Me?”

Excellent.

I'm expecting the Obama campaign to object the next time the Greta Van Sustern panel starts opining about suspects in a random murder.

Or maybe Obama can object the next time we announce a reward for the leader of Al Queda in Iraq. Possibilities are endless.

President Bush talked about appeasers in general and Obama assumed it was about him...rather telling regarding Obama’s view of himself.

Obama doesn't even want tough talk, he wants appeasement.

Someone needs to help me with the sick logic of the media.

1) The war is “unpopular”. (This particular war, unlike other wars, can’t even get a date for the Prom).

2) Thus Americans MUST feel strongly that proactively kicking terrorist ass in their own backyard, is not the proper strategy.

3) Thus, Obama’s appeasement should be wildly popular with the vast majority of Americans supposedly opposed to Bush’s war.

4) So why is OPacifist and his staunch supporters in the ObamaMedia running from the “Appeasement” label?

When somebody condemns appeasement, it doesn’t help things to jump up and yell “Hey, he’s talking about me!”

Perfect.

IF republicans will just shine a little light on this, the dems will be exposed as the fringe kooks they are. Hard to picture a wackier bunch than complaining about condemnation of terrorist appeasement.

I assume Obama will give Jimmy Carter another place of honor at the dem convention this year?
