ABC: Americans 'Soon' Paying $1000 to Fill Up Their Gas Tank?

ABC's "Nightline" on Monday continued the network's trend of hyperbolically, and in this case, apocalyptically, fretting over high gas prices in America. Anchor Martin Bashir introduced a segment by wondering if $4 a gallon gas might result in some people stealing gasoline, or, as he put it, "taking some drastic measures." Speaking to a car security expert who claimed that such theft would be a misdemeanor because the total cost would be below $1000, reporter John Donvan lost all perspective and replied, "But we may soon be paying more than $1,000 for a tank of gas."

Donvan, in a snarky tone, even cited the plot of the futuristic thriller "The Road Warrior" to support his argument. He speculated, "And in the future, of course, they will be stealing gas and fighting over it. We know that because of the 1981 Mad Max classic 'The Road Warrior.'"

If the dhims in Congress get their way this is certainly possible.

Of course, since WE pay for their cars and fuel it won’t matter to them.

Hah! A thousand bucks to fill up? I wish! A full fuel bill runs $2000 for the five hundred gallons of diesel this sucker uses:

44' Power Catamaran

$1000 per fill up? Bring it on!

If gas is $50 per gallon, Mr. Obama’s $5.00 per gallon gas tax will seem insignificant.

Liberal DemoRAT Energy Plan:

1. You can’t drill for oil anywhere.
2. You can’t build a refinery anywhere.
3. You can’t build a nuclear power plant anywhere.
4. You can’t burn coal for electricity.
5. You can’t allow the oil companies to reinvest their profits into exploration.
6. But you can drive up the price of food by subsidizing an ethanol industry that takes land out of food production while using more energy than it creates.
7.You must continue to tax every gallon of gas that we put in our tanks.
8.You must threaten all energy users with additional ‘carbon taxes’.
9. And just in case some entrepreneur out there somewhere may have an idea for an alternative energy concept that just might work, you must raise the capital gains tax so that investors have less capital and less incentive to invest in his/her project. count your blessings.

With the coming change in administration, it| will be a wonder if the price of gasoline doesn’t get to $10 per gallon.

All this and more thanks to anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-military Liberal Radical DemoRATS.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com since nobody could afford $1000 a tank anyway... why didn't he just say $1,000,000??? makes as much sense and about as probable.

Well, I think he was talking about private passenger vehicles, not big rigs.

But...a one ton 4x4 could possibly have twin 30 gallon tanks I suppose. So 60 gallons at 4.50 per gallon(assuming it’s a diesel pickup) works out to 270 bucks to fill up.

So NOPE, not even close.

And as we all know in 2019 we will all be driving flying car because they were in Blade Runner.

Hollyweird screenwriters can predict the future, you didn't know that?

WTF.

Bull&hit...and no, I’m not Joe Biden...

If you have a 20 gallon tank that works out to $50 per gallon. That’s an increase of 1,150% from a current price of $4 per gallon. There will be a (bigger) war for oil long before that happens...what a moron. Check the damn math...
