Press Releases Contact: Brendan Daly/Nadeam Elshami 202-226-7616 For Immediate Release 05/15/2008 Pelosi Statement on California State Supreme Court Ruling on Gay Marriage

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement in reaction to the California Supreme Court’s decision today to strike the state ban on gay marriage:

“I welcome the California Supreme Court’s historic decision. I have long fought against discrimination and believe that the State Constitution provides for equal treatment for all of California’s citizens and families, which today’s decision recognizes.

“I commend the plaintiffs from San Francisco for their courage and commitment. I encourage California citizens to respect the Court’s decision, and I continue to strongly oppose any ballot measure that would write discrimination into the State Constitution.

“Today is a significant milestone for which all Californians can take pride.”

Will someone please tell this stupid woman to shut up. I’ve heard just about enough out of her today.

It will surprise Pelousy to find out most people in California don’t give a rat’s patoot what she says. In fact, there is active campaigning here in the City to oust her from her Congressional seat.

And this statement, coming as it does from the Speaker of the House, is a gift to the Republicans, if they just get their heads out of their behinds and USE it!

Romans 1:32 - “Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”

Liberals keep proving that they’re completely clueless and out of touch with Americans. Pelosi is an embarrassment to the human race.

In my junior English class I just finished showing A Man For All Seasons. I see the coming parallel: all Christians, especially Catholics, are in the scope of the secular humanist rifle. And many of us may end up in "courts of inquiry" because:

We will not bend to the marriages!

“Californians can take pride” in abnormal behavior? Great.

Boy, nothing quite like a rationalization to get through the night.

When abnormalities and abominations are considered normal, the door to Hell just gets a little closer.

God save us.

“Today is a significant milestone for which all Californians can take pride.”

That should have been: “Today is a significant mistake for which all Californians can now dread.”

Sodom and Gomorrha.

I see this as an opening to use against “conservative” Democrat house members against Pelosi...But then again we aren't supposed to be partisan anymore after McLame’s speech today are we...

On the contrary, I think she should keep talking. Really loudly. That’ll bring people over to the Dems. Yup.

Hmmmmm along with marriage can divorce be far behind or are homosexual couples dreaming they will remain married forever?

Has anyone anticipated that legal skirmish such as division property rights and who gets the children of the couple?

I guess they don’t think beyond one tippy toe at a time.

I wish every MSM would pick up on her sentiments because I figure a good 85% of America would find this ruling totally disgusting and especially if they show the pictures I saw earlier.
