Biden: Bush's comments were 'bulls**t'

Sen. Joe Biden, piling on to Democratic complaints about President Bush’s speech in Israel today:

“This is bullshit, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset . . . and make this kind of ridiculous statement.”

Speaking before the Knesset, Bush said that “some people” believe the United States “should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along."

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is—the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

Democrats have interpreted the comments as an attack on Sen. Barack Obama, and Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said that the president was out of line.

“He is the guy who has weakened us,” he said. “He has increased the number of terrorists in the world. It is his policies that have produced this vulnerability that the U.S. has. It’s his [own] intelligence community [that] has pointed this out, not me.”

Biden noted that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have both suggested that the United States ought to find a way to talk more with its enemies.

"If he thinks this is appeasement, is he going to come back and fire his own cabinet?” Biden asked. “Is he going to fire Condi Rice?”

In a separate statement, Sen. John Kerry said that Bush "is still playing the disgusting and dangerous political game Karl Rove perfected, which is insulting to every American and disrespectful to our ally Israel. George Bush should be making Israel secure, not slandering Barack Obama from the Knesset."

The White House insists that Bush wasn’t referring specifically to Obama, an argument that Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) called "baloney."

"There is no escaping what the president is doing," said Durbin, who supports Obama. "It is an attack on Sen. Obama’s position that we should not be avoiding even those we disagree with when it comes to negotiations and diplomacy."

Durbin called Bush's remarks "unfair and really unfortunate."

Looks like they took the proverbial 2X4 upside the head. It really hit home.

yeah, they hate it when their true beliefs are put out in front of everyone to see,

especially when an historical context is offered.

They like to play on the ignorance of the populace that has a worldview of “history started the day I was born”.

On problem is the President made a simple statement of truth, while the attacks on Bush made by American Leftists in Foreign Lands are not at all factual or even rational.

There no moral equivalence here as any Conservative can plainly see.

” I understand when you’re running for office you sometimes think the world revolves around you. That is not always true. And it is not true in this case.”

Absolutely right on! Obama’s reaction is childishly egotistical. And revealing.”

The fact that Daschel, Durbin, Kerry, Biden have all jumped on this, they now this is Obama’s achilles heel. They are trying to get in front of this before he gets defined by it. Much like Gore wan’t his own man and Kerry was a flip-flopper.

Sorry, you are wrong. I checked. McCain did lose it and used bad language with Cronyn. Perhaps you were thinking of other incidents where McCain lost it. What a crude and nasty man.

American Leftists’ have no morals. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have any either.

Say it here. Say it everyday. Should have been saying it all along.

Saying it in front of Congress of another Country, to attack fellow Americans is not appropriate. I am not even sure not-appropriate are appropriate words to describe it. Its completely ridiculous.

Is this what America has become? Political opponents have to go to foreign lands to seek sympathy? We are going to wage battles against each other in other Countries?

That is why he and WH spokesman is DENYING that intended target was Obama. Otherwise, their would have been NO reson to deny.

Maybe if the RINOS grew a spine and actually tried fighting the Left instead of constantly trying to appease them all the time, they might actually win some elections again.

“Nope. I googled but came up with nothing. Perhaps you could do some in-depth research, since this seems to be something you are interested in, and then share it with the FR community. I, for one, am looking forward to your discovery. “

Perhaps you will offer to pay for something you seem to want someone else to do for you?

You can always tell when a comment hits the truth, the Leftists go into hysteria about it!

Bingo. The more they scream and go ballistic, the more on target was the comment.

In their drugged out secret meetings, they can love Hammas and other terrorists. However, they lose elections when their wet dreams get out past their MSM.

What is your problem?

For the second time... Bush has been repeating this type of rhetoric since 9-11 occured. The President did nothing wrong, except to point out the cut and run politics and appeasement mentality of some people -— mostly those on the anti-war leftwing.

Again, the venue was perfect to make such comments. After all, America is at war, or have you forgotten?

Was Biden even semi normal before his hair plugs were inserted?

Or did his full blown lunancy come after the hair plugs were implanted.

Venue was not perfect. Why deny then that target were Obama and Dems? That is saying to another Country, my fellow Americans, possibly half of them if not more, are like Nazi appeasers.

I didn’t know its appropriate to accuse your own people of these serious charges, in front of other Countries.

That’s like Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid going to Iraq and telling them you have been illegally invaded by George Bush. Would that be appropriate in your view?

I don’t think so. You would be calling it treasonous act.

Its one to for them to say that here in America where they have right to wage their political battles. Its completely different to go say that to other Countries on official mission in front of their Congress.
