Investigators from the Ohio Inspector Generals office descended on Attorney General Marc Danns office shortly after 11 this morning, defying Danns legal arguments that they had no right to investigate his office.
A state trooper was seen hauling video equipment from the attorney generals office in the Rhodes Tower shortly after noon today. Authorities also reportedly locked down computers operated by Dann and about a dozen of his top assistants.

Not being from Ohio, “What’s all this about then?”.......
Give us non-Ohioans just a little clue as to what this is about, the political affiliations of those involved, that sort of thing.
GOP Senate leader said yesterday that Dann offered to resign IF the investigation could be delayed 90 days (which should be long enough for Dann to “sanitize” the official records).
I suspect that as soon as word of this deal was made public, the rush was on to seize the records and stop any efforts at “sanitization”.
In 2006, the dems swept all state wide offices except for Ohio Supreme Court and the made huge gains in the state legislature.
Dann is a democrat that came in 2006. Dann is also from Youngstown, home to Jim Traficant and the minor league football team, the Mahoning Valley Hitmen who offered a contract to former Denver Bronco/Ohio State football player Maurice Clarett the week before he went to jail.
They must be looking for porn, or worse, on the state computers.....
Dann, who remained in the center of swirl of rumors about his political future today, said nothing except that reports of a noon press conference were false. He has been under pressure to resign since a May 2 report by two of his offices attorneys found widespread mismanagement, cronyism and tolerance for sexual harassment in his office. The report was triggered by sexual-harassment complaints filed by two junior employees who worked for a Dann friend, former condo-mate and section chief, Anthony Gutierrez.
Ohio House Democrats yesterday filed articles of impeachment against Dann.
Dann is a Democrat by the way.

The Ohio Democratic Party has already stripped any mention of AG Marc Dann from its website.
Go to www.ohiodems.org and see for yourself.
Looks like they're throwing him overboard as fast as they can.
And all of that information was actually in the article.
Thanks I kinda figured that out when I didn't see the word REPUBLICAN written in uppercase letters after his name in the title. :)

*hiccup*
From listening daily to Youngstown radio WKBN (all Democrats, all-the-time) and their editorials by station management telling Dann to resign and spare Youngstown any more embarrassment, I suspect there was a lot more going on in the Ohio AG's office than a continuous 24/7 frat party.
Whew. I had to read that a couple of times just to get the crucial preposition right.
The Democratic state party chair Redfern said:
“Pending Saturday's events, he'll be holding office as an independent who was elected as a Democrat,” said Redfern. “We will distance ourselves both literally and figuratively from Marc Dann until he makes the right decision, which is to step down.”
OT---Horrible thunderstorm and lightening moving in. I gotta shut down.
Now that the investigation has started, I don't see any reason for Dann to resign, except for saving face and public humiliation. I expect that he will eventually go to jail (or at least probation) for obstruction. His only weapon now is to make it as painful on the Democratic party and the state.
