Attorney General Marc Dann is expected to make a statement on his political future around noon today.

Although it's widely speculated that Dann will step down from the office he's held since January 2007, his spokesman, Jason Stanford, wouldn't preview his statement.

Hopefully he’ll do the right thing...somehow, I think he’s bitter on how this all blew up on him (the a-hole got caught) and this will be a vindictive resignation...

Local radio station (WTVN 610 AM Columbus) just anounced that Dann and his press people are missing in action from their own press conference.

Sounds like the press is standing around getting PO that Dann is wasting their lunch hour.

False alarm. Dann's spokesman just said there was never supposed to be a statement issued at noon.

In other news, Dann's torts and briefs are missing.

The Dispatch is now reporting that the AG’s office is locked down. Per http://www.dispatchpolitics.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/05/14/dannpress.html?adsec=politics&sid=101

From the new article:
“The State Highway Patrol is in the attorney general's offices, checking employee badges and monitoring to see if documents are being removed from the floor, sources told The Dispatch. Troopers were even searching the purses of employees leaving the offices.”

Sounds like the Governor and legislators are turning the screws tighter.

The Dispatch is now reporting that the State Patrol is raiding the AG office. They have pictures of them hauling PCs out of the office.

Dann likely is in hiding, trying to figure out how not to spend time in the Ohio Pen. Probably very surprised that he couldn't trade his resignation for a pass on obstruction of justice.

Interesting that you have to read almost all the way down to discover that Dann is a democrat.

Will he do the right thing? No.

Sadly, when Governor Strickland was my Congressman he then lacked the moral courage to remove a lewd, perjurious, self-centered careeer politican/lawyer who behaved as if he was above the law. Because it was about sex. Right?

Mr. Dann also demonstrates that he too is a lewd, perjurious, self-centered career politician/lawyer behaving as if he is above the law. Again, while an honorable person would have resigned for betraying our trust; and Mr. Dann disgracefully remains in office. And Dann can claim a precedent was set in Washington!

The way I see it, Governor Ted Strickland was always deficient in the leadership category. Continued inactivity toward the removal of Mr. Dann ought to elevate into an impeachment issue against the Governor.

An my patience is wearing thin.

Looks like they've got him by the subpoena (from the Latin: sub- = below, and poena ...).
