AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, and Doctor of Democracy. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

McCain specifically said he would NOT appoint someone like Alito because he wore his conservatism on his sleeve.
McCain said Supreme Court Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito "would serve as the model for my own nominees if that responsibility falls to me,"Actually, he said both.

Yes, I'm a fortune teller. That's what I figured.
I never claimed McQueeg was a Conservative, I said he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade and nominate judges in the image of Roberts and Alito. Those are the facts, you on the other hand can go play with your crystal ball in the corner.

It is a certainty both ways, which is why no argument will convince me to vote for McCain. I cannot trust the man on this or other issues.

I said he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade and nominate judges in the image of Roberts and Alito...Excuse me... he says now that this is the case. His history says something completely different.

“I uannot trust the man on this or other issues.”
Truly the problem. I think he is mentally unbalanced. It to me is just too scary. I am not a one issue person.
To me abortion is murder but I do not see the President have a big say in this. Even if Roe gets overturned most of the States will permit it and even in States prohibiting it there will mostly be limp enforcement. Finally I think if you really want to stop it you have to deal with the only people responsible...mothers.

It is a certainty both ways, Did you bump your head before you wrote that? He doesn't like how Alito wears his conservatism on his sleeve so that means he wouldn't nominate him after he said he would? Hard to follow that logic.

We were ticked off in 1976 because of the Ford/Reagan battle. It was a pier nine brawl, with Ford taking uncommitted delegates on plane rides using Air Force One. He barely squeaked through, after insulting Reagan supporters all spring and summer.
Ford was a McCain. His appointments, such as Nelson Rockefeller and John Paul Stevens were uniformly awful. Ford was for abortion and the Equal Rights Amendment. He was one wretched candidate. There was no difference between him and Carter. But I don’t recall the word “Nixon” coming up once that year. That’s all retrospect. The issue of a pardon was never discussed in the debates.
