1. The victim took two .45 slugs in the belly at point-blank range. I'm amazed she pulled through.
2. "Remy" shot a woman twice and left her to die. I think a little more than 8 years is in order.
Just goes to show you the people who advocate a large caliber over accuracy are full of it. Shoot straight if you want to kill someone. As to her sentence, how about the death penalty because she meant for the person to die, therefore she should get the death penalty, IMO.

I think you’re misinterpreting what large-caliber advocates are actually saying. A large caliber weapon is a good defensive weapon in that it gives you better stopping power (i.e., the ability to stop an attack immediately) than a smaller caliber weapon. Both large and small caliber weapons are about equally lethal — if you get hit in the right spot, and equally nonlethal if a vital organ isn’t hit.
How about you stick her weeping, crying face on the cover of her albums, alongside a pic of the woman she tried to murder in ICU? If hip hop is all about “keeping it real”, let’s show something real, like her getting gang raped in the shower by Midge and her bull dyke posse.

For me, the .45 1911 is a perfect home defense gun. No question about its stopping power, but its heavy. I like a hi cap 9mm for carry — with modern +P ammo, I don’t worry about it not being tough enough.
From the ballistics tests that I’ve seen, the mighty .45 is still the pistol of choice, though.
But... I'm not a big-caliber ideologue; if you can refer me to a website that backs up that statistic, I'd appreciate it very much and I'll definitely reconsider. Cheers! :-)

The Army went with the .45ACP over the .38Colt because of penetration, not “stopping power”, as experienced in the Phillipines.
12” is considered nominal penetration (just about right).
“Stopping Power” simply cannot be defined.
