Interesting reason why people support Obama...
Real Clear Politics ^ | May 13, 2008 | Stephen Marks

GOP consultant Stephen Marks, on going negative against Obama: "Here's the problem, I've been doing negative politics all my life. ... But this is the first candidate that I've seen that nothing negative is sticking. And I'll tell you why. ... His white supporters, as you know, they're young people, and they are middle-class and upper-middle class wealthier white folks, and nothing appeals to them. They're getting something from Barack Obama that they've never gotten from any other candidate before. They're getting moral superiority, they're getting self-esteem. ... I'm serious."

Unfortunately, the liberals and Obama supporters aren’t kidding. They take the stuff seriously. They don’t see the demographic crash as a problem.

Luckily I'm posting over here and not at DU then.

The Manchurian Candidate.

Senator's Wife: I'm sorry, hon'. Would it really make it easier for you if we settled on just one number?
Senator: Yeah. Just one, real, simple number that'd be easy for me to remember.

Maybe he said "Sermon on the Mount" and this article may be what Marks was referring to:

Obama: Sermon on the Mount supports gay civil unions
Marks may be referring to this idea in the article:

Russell D. Moore, dean of the school of theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, an evangelical seminary in Louisville, Ky., said he is "confused" as to how a "civil libertarian" like Obama can "on the one hand, condemn faith-based arguments when they speak to issues on which he disagrees" but then "embrace just such arguments when they seem to serve issues he is promoting."

For one thing, he appeals to their yuppie outlook and prejudices.

It is often the higher educated who are most attracted by appearances - especially when their sense of history comes from a lifetime of disconnected images viewed over a two-dimensional TV screen.

A lot of it is generational. If you are under 45 you're a lot more likely to support Obama.

Bill Clinton got a lot of generational support in 1992. He never convinced me. Who would want to throw out the greatest generation to let in the 60s protest generation? It's different this time. Clinton started out with a lot of negatives that Obama didn't have, at least at the beginning.

A lot of it is Bush. A lot of people -- not just liberals or profesors or the rich -- want someone different, an anti-Bush. The ones who support Obama are mistaken about him. They aren't really looking very closely at him or his record. But he does resonate with a lot of people.

Negative campaign rhetoric has to be on target to work. You catch something about Gore or Kerry, Dukakis or Mondale that's really there, and you've got them. So far, a lot of the anti-Obama stuff doesn't quite capture the man, it looks too much like it's been recycled from past campaigns. To really be convincing, you have to get to know Obama better and not rely on what worked against Kerry or Dukakis.

We give them a lady to vote in as VP, and we pick up a lot of votes.

I dunno. It didn't help Mondale much when he gave them Ferraro/Zaccaro. The best thing McCain can do is pick a well-spoken conservative with nothing incendiary in his history. A governor but not a Bush. Trouble is, the bench is pretty thin considering the GOP held a lot of power the last 14 years. Apparently little or no party building went on after the guys at the country club eased into their seats at the table and began slurping down the soup.

The ascendancy of Barack He Whose Middle Name May Not Be Spoken Obama is the realization of the efforts of all the Cultural Marxists whose ideas were nurtured by the Gramcians who set up the Frankfurt School and spawned cultural radicals like Erich Fromm, Herbert Marcuse, and Theodore Adorno. Their intellectual progeny are thoroughly ensconced in the MSM, academia, Hollywood, and most importantly in the George Soros directed modern day Democratic Party which is the nest for all the Vipers on the left, the racial identity determininists, the radical feminists, the sexual deviationist lobby, the “watermelon” environmentalists, the open borders crowd and the anti-war seditionists who seek to steal from our magnificent armed forces the victory that they have earned with their blood and valor in the SAME MANNER as they stole our hard earned victory from those of us who are Vietnam vets.
Their apotheosis is the religion of Obama, the Lucifer deceiver who would lead this great nation to Fabian Socialist HELL!!!
Should Barack He Whose Middle Name May Not Be Spoken Obama get a compliant Democrat Congress and Senate, the damage done to this country and to liberty as we have known it, would be incalculable. He is the most dangerous presidential candidates since Henry Wallace. Please check this link. It will tell you all that you need to know. There is credible info that could lead one to believe that his Indonesian stepfather to him to Mosque with the intent of making him Muslim. His own campaign said in a LA Time article that he was never a REGULARLY practicing Muslim, leading one to infer that he was an IRREGULARLY practicing Muslim. That is enough for the Muzzies to convict him as an apostate or to accept him as one of the faithful deceiving the dhimmis. Check the years 1971-1973 at the link below.

Should Obama take over the Executive Branch, I honestly don't think the Country will survive.
