Planned Parenthood of Ohio Defends Acceptance of Racist Abortion Donation

Columbus, OH (LifeNews.com) -- Officials with Planned Parenthood in Ohio are finally responding to allegations a UCLA student newspaper made in February that they gladly accepted donations from a caller who said he wanted it used for racist purposes. The Advocate magazine called Planned Parenthood centers in several states.

The pro-life publication told LifeNews.com at the time that an actor posing as a racist donor called Planned Parenthood and asked that his donation be used to abort African American babies in order to "lower the number of black people."

The magazine said an Ohio Planned Parenthood representative, Lisa Hutton, told the donor that Planned Parenthood "will accept the money for whatever reason."

The abortion business has never responded, but Stephanie Tresso, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood in Columbus, talked with the Associated Press about the calls on Saturday.

She did not dispute that the Planned Parenthood staffer accepted the donation.

However, Tresso said the calls were a sham to discredit the pro-abortion group and she claimed the audio of the call posted on the Internet was edited. Tresso says pro-life advocates left out part of the staffer's comments saying the money would be used for black women in need.

"It was quite an unprofessional call that she received, and she struggled with how to address it," Tresso told AP.

"She filed an incident report and notified her supervisor, which she was supposed to do. Her supervisor then notified other Planned Parenthoods, and we realized that this was happening all over the country and it was an organized effort," Tresso added.

She indicated Planned Parenthood staff have been trained about how to field similar phone calls in the future but didn't indicate what that included.

Lila Rose, the editor of the student newspaper, also spoke with the Associated Press and defended the phone calls, saying they proved Planned Parenthood at least tolerates racism.

"They could have hung up, they could have disagreed, they could have said 'No, we don't discriminate,' but not a single clinic did that, and that's disturbing and shocking," she said

NOBODY "needs" to murder their baby.

Points for creativity?

Planned Murderhood says its acceptance of money for the SPECIFIC DESIGNATED PURPOSE of killing “inferior” black babies is a “community service.”

Excuse me while my head explodes.

I would love to see Obama defend his beloved abortion industry, as well as his support for the black neighborhood annihilating Kelo v. City of New London court decision.

How many "professional" calls does she receive?

Liberals use words that are all just fluff with no meaning but sound good.

Well, thank goodness for that response. It all makes sense now.

In a call between a donor and a operator accepting donations, there is only one professional involved. The caller is an unknown quantity, and the professional has to deal with that caller appropriately.

So if a call was “unprofessional”, the operator is, by definition, to blame for that situation.

Let's see.

Blacks make up about 12% of the population, yet about 35% of abortions are performed on blacks. Additionally, Planned Parenthood abortuaries are far more likely to be in poor areas than middle class areas.

It seems that all the callers were doing was exposing an "organized effort" on the part of Big Abortion that has existed since its inception.

“...an actor posing as a racist donor called Planned Parenthood and asked that his donation be used to abort African American babies in order to “lower the number of black people.”

I think if someone called the McCain campaign and said they were sending $1000 to make sure that neither a woman or a black became president, the money would still be accepted.

If someone thinks he’s doing god’s work, it usually doesn’t matter very much to him why people are helping.

So the liberals are trying to get rid of blacks, and, let’s see, who else gets abortions—other liberals? But who’s going to fund them once they have eliminated their members? No one. Maybe in a generation or two, we won’t have them to kick around any more.

We collect money to kill babies, is there any lower as we can go. The fact that someone might want to kill babies for purely racists reason does not make it any worse. So why not accept the money?

Its all pretty much just semantics after you accept your role in the industrialized murder of your children.

EXACTLY!!!!

She’s supposed to be the ‘professional’.

And here is where they will come a cropper. It’s always the cover-up thata gets them. They should have fired the staffer, publically apologized, set out the steps they would take to ensure that this never happened again.

Oh, and coughed up a few mil to Jesse Jackson or al Sharpton for resolution.

No offense but Planned Parenthood did nothing wrong here. I’ve heard this phone call and you can tell the lady on the phone is NOT happy with what the caller was saying. She kept her demeanor and reported it afterwards.

When followed up on, ut was rightfully determined to be a coordinated effort by some people with nothing better to do.

Sounds like some folks are pissed because their little juvenile prank calls didn’t work.

This is exactly why I won’t get involved in the pro-life movement. They lie, distort, infer and plain old twist the facts. They are poster children for “ends justifying the means”. As if abortion wasn’t bad enough, they know it’s not enough to arouse most people to action. They have to make their enemies out to be racist genocidal maniacs. Smells like liberal tactics to me.

Thanks for further proving my point.

And your point was what, that we should just do nothing?

That's actually not a point, it's a blueprint for failure.

Liberal birthrates are significantly lower than conservative birthrates. It’s partly due to their “overpopulation” and “zero-sum” thinking, but mostly due to their selfish narcisism.

I keep telling all the pro-aborts that they will be viewed, in a few short years, with the same disdain as they view pro-slavery people.
