"His True Name Is Barak Hussein Muhammed Obama"

"His True Name Is Barak Hussein Muhammed Obama"

No Muhammed or Mohammed in Obama’s name

A chain e-mail that originates with a letter from American missionaries working in Kenya warns about Sen. Barack Obama’s ties to Kenya and its opposition party, encouraging readers “not to be taken in by those that are promoting him.”

Among the many allegations is one about Obama’s name: “By the way. His true name is Barak Hussein Muhammed Obama. Won’t that sound sweet to our enemies as they swear him in on the Koran! God bless you.”

The e-mail reads like a bad game of “telephone,” its claims drawn from assorted people and sources that have been stitched together. And yet, because it is signed by real people, who have a life in Africa, it somehow carries more credence than your average blog posting — and it’s spreading rapidly. ( Read the e-mail here. )

Let’s be clear: The senator from Illinois who is running for president of the United States is named Barack Hussein Obama Jr. His campaign has insisted that is his full name (no Muhammad). We’ve checked this before and found it to be blatantly wrong. But since the rumor persists, we decided to dig deeper.

We have now searched every public record we can access and find nothing to support the notion that Obama has a second middle name of "Muhammed" or "Mohammed." Only in the ether of chain e-mails does this allegation fly.

We have a copy of Obama's marriage certificate from the Cook County Bureau of Vital Statistics in Illinois. Barack H. Obama married Michelle L. Robinson on Oct. 3, 1992, in Chicago. (And, yes, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. officiated.)

We looked at Obama’s driver’s license record in the state of Illinois, and the name reads: Barack H Obama. (Senator, just a reminder that your license is up for renewal this year).

We searched property records for Obama and found listings under the names Barack Hussein Obama and Barack H Obama.

We also found Obama’s registration and disciplinary record with the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois. ( You can see it here. ) Barack Hussein Obama was admitted as a lawyer by the Illinois Supreme Court on Dec. 17, 1991. (By the way, Obama has no public record of discipline.)

We tried to obtain a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, but his campaign would not release it and the state of Hawaii does not make such records public.

Loren Davis, whose wife Celeste wrote the e-mail, says he can’t substantiate the claim.

“That was what we heard there (in Kenya),” Davis said in an interview with PolitiFact. He says they’ve lived and worked in Kenya for the past 12 years and this was a personal letter “never intended to be forwarded or sent out to the Web.”

Regardless, it’s time to ground this charge once and for all. His name is Barack Hussein Obama. There is simply no evidence anywhere to support the allegation that his name is something else. We’re going to rule the way we have before. Pants on Fire!

This is John Effing Kerry redux. Kerry could have released his complete military records at any time and squelched all the so-called inuendo and questions about his service and dishonorable discharge. But he never did and we all know why. When someone purportedly has it in their power to prove their innocence or to have information released that would tend to prove their innocence and they do not, then there is only one conclusion to derive, the evidence doesn’t really prove their innocence or it might in fact prove guilt to a larger offense.

Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama can prove that he’s just a Hussein and not a Hussein Mohammad. The means of proof are in his own hands. But he refuses to. He has to realize that his Islamification will be a recurring theme in this election. But he refuses to address this issue early, when it is most manageable. What does that tell us? What conclusion could we possibly draw. Just because4 his license and bar registration omit the possible second middle name does not make them despositive of the issue. During the early 90’s, DMV’s were much more accommodating than they are today. Same goes for marriage license and other id. Till I see that birth cerficate, he’s Mohammed to me.

To my knowledge, nobody has ever seriously challenged a candidate's birthplace or age (the rumors that Chester A. Arthur was born in Canada never led to a contest). No candidate for the presidency has ever had to prove his age or place of birth that I know of, nor has one ever been required to produce a birth certificate.

Presumably, if that was in doubt, there would be a lawsuit of some sort at which point evidence of all kinds, including birth certificates would be admissible.

I sure as heck am, if not afraid, at least wary of Muslims. I don't care what his name is, that is not something he could control.

If he were a Muslim it would mean something to me.

I just looked it up.
McCain was born in Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone, Panama.

That’s my take too, emails like this are disinformation campaigns. Snopes loves “em” because truths like Obama’s Kenyan political connections get buried and flagged under a banner of “false” because of an extraneous detail about his “name”.

He’s a Marxist. Go for the politics he is on record for. Especially as he plays to the moderates as a “good patriot” who just happens to be surrounded by violent and racist radicals.

This whole BS about “Barack is a Muslim” annoys me, but it will help McCain, as many folks on the left-side of the bellcurve tend to believe such things.

Yes, but I believe that Panama is one of the 57 United States.

Why lie about the Muhammad when he’s conceded the Hussein?

More likely the birth certificate somehow corroborates the growing suspicion that Barack Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann Dunham never formally married.

His muslim father named Barack after his muslim grandfather. Obama claim to his grandfather’s muslim name is suspicious because his grandfather was originally a Catholic. Why not adopt the grandfather’s original Catholic name? What non-muslim wants to be named after one of Mohammed’s offspring?

And Obama said that the Islamic call to prayer is one of the most beautiful sounds he’s heard. And he can recite it.

But we aren’t supposed to “go there”. Despite what his school registration showed. Say, did you hear that Mitt Romney is a Mormon? So is Harry Reid but people don’t talk about that very much.

Birth Certificates are just basic stuff, the most important part being the newborn's full name. Now why wouldn't he release his if there are no inconsistencies there???

That is very, very strange.

It does raise some real questions. In particular, we have only his word for it and that of his family that he was born in Hawaii, and not in Kenya. A birth certificate is NOT a private document. All it gives is date of birth, place of birth, and parents’ names. Those are facts that are known about most people, and easily obtained.

As for his family’s testimony, we have already seen his Kenyan grandmother lying on his instructions. Last year she told reporters she was always a Muslim. This year she says she has always been a Christian. And his white grandmother in Hawaii has been hidden away from the press.

Very strange that he refuses to release it. I think he needs to be pressured to do so, because of the requirement that a president must be native born.

Wonder if it’ll show his dual citizenship with KENYA on it???

Sounds like they are hiding something. Perhaps his father's name is not on the birth certificate because his parents were never officially married?

Didn't he admit in his Dreams book (long before he started running for president) that he is not really sure that they were in fact married? Which might be a polite way of saying he knows they werent.

Thank you.

My fingers were getting kind of tired of posting about Obama's camp.

Some of the world's nastiest cretins are shoulder to shoulder with Obama, so God help us all if these evil people get the White House!

What you are saying is true for certified copies, with a raised seal.

You can get usually get non certified copies even if you are not the person on the document or related to same—the non certified copy has no legal import, it is just a copy of a public record.

Each state has its own rules, but unless you are requesting a copy with a raised seal, it is a public record.

I don’t see how the government can claim otherwise.

There is one other point. I have read that his name originally was Baraka, which he changed to Barak, presumably because it sounded better. And called himself Barry.

Maybe the birth certificate reads Baraka Hussein Obama? Which means, in Arabic, “Holy Hussein Obama,” after one of the Holy Imams.
