If you're going to suggest that McCain wasn't calling for more troops in Iraq from the start, there's really no point in discussing it. I'm not perfect. If he was, he was. I still say it's a lot easier for John McCain to disagree with Bush on everything, and then capitlize on it when he was right. Hey, I happen to fall in that category too, so I have to live by the same damnation on that. You know as well as I do that John was so angry after his loss of the nomination in 2000, he was beside himself with anger. He went on every talk show he could opposing many of the things Bush did. I found that to be a chicken-shit attitude to do it from day one. If you don't think Obama will pull our troops out immediately (he doesn't need Congressional authority on either troop levels or Gitmo), then you have not been listening to Obama.
He and Hillary did some interviews or debates about three weeks ago, and both stated they would not be able to pull the troups out immediately. I do realize they had said they would for some time, but evidently those promises are no longer operative.
In my opinion, an Obama win will not only destroy Conservatives , it will do irreperable damage to the country.
How can a guy who stands against everything Conservatism stands for, reduce the numbers of people who believe in Conservatism? If anything, the numbers of Conservatives would grow exponentially. Look what happened under Clinton in 1994. We took the House and Senate for the first time in something like 50 years.
An Obama win will be seen as confirmation that Conservatism is gone for good.
No, untrue. What it would prove is that a RINO can't win without Conservative support. If John is elected knowing what we know about him (Listed above), and what he has proposed to do, then that makes it clear the Conservative movement is done.
I have said it before and I'll say it here again.
A John McCain victory in November ends the Conservative movement in the United States. After that, Conservatism will only be a theory. It will not be practiced by enough office holders in the nation to make it a viable movement after January 20th, 2009.

(Who opposes John McCain's leftist agenda? The RNC, Rep Congress members, the Democrats? Good luck!)

When we've surrendered in Iraq and our troops have sacrificed in vain, at least you can take comfort in saying a Rino lost.
Thanks for the discussion.

How can a guy who stands against everything Conservatism stands for, reduce the numbers of people who believe in Conservatism? By the resounding defeat of Conservatism with the election of Obama! No Conservative would be able to stand for anything after that. Democrats would bring back "The Fairness Doctrine" with a much broader mandate to cover any spectrum to shut down every voice of Conservative causes. The main stream Media would declare so often the death of Conservatism that our de facto demise would become a reality.
