Back to #60 - Good points, but I must also respect the fact that he was virtually alone in first proposing a troop surge in Iraq - which is saving lives and protecting our national interests, and I am comfortable with his level of commitment to securing Iraq.

I also understand that if we leave Iraq, it will undermine our credibility, weaken our deterrence of the enemy, and place us at much greater risk for future attacks. If I have to put up with McCain in order to prevent that, so be it.

Hal are you aware that McCain actually had two or three different stances on troop levels in Iraq? He has basically bracketed Bush with policy differences since 2000. Then he comes off as being the first guy who proposed anything that happens.

I don’t trust him bud. If you want to, you’re a big guy. Go ahead. I’m not going to rag on you for doing it.

I can’t.
