Against the backdrop of a stunning Texas sunset, near a lake on the Bush family's 1,600-acre ranch, President Bush walked his daughter, Jenna, down the aisle to her groom, the White House said.
Jenna Bush and Henry Hager say "I do" on Saturday. "We're mighty blessed," President Bush said.
Jenna, 26, married Henry Hager, the son of a well-connected Virginia Republican.
"The wedding was spectacular. It was all we could have hoped for," the president said Sunday before boarding Air Force One.
"We're mighty blessed."
Wearing a white silk organza Oscar de la Renta gown, the bride stood with the groom before a beige-colored cross and altar made of Texas limestone.
The White House declined to release many details of the festivities, citing the family's wish for privacy.
Bush family friend Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell of Houston officiated as the couple exchanged wedding vows in front of some 200 family members and friends.
The guests arrived in five coach buses and were waved through the ranch's checkpoint around 7 p.m.

Afterwards, under a tent nestled in a thick cluster of trees, the celebration included dinner and dancing to the music of the Motown-style band, the Tyrone Smith Review, the White House said.
A CNN camera crew positioned miles from the wedding site saw a glimpse of the white tent, illuminated with what appeared to be strings of lights hanging from the ceiling.
The president and the bride picked "You Are So Beautiful" for their father-daughter dance, band leader Tyrone Smith of Nashville, Tennessee. told The Associated Press. Smith and his 10-piece party band, The Tyrone Smith Revue, was asked to do "Lovin' in My Baby's Eyes" by Taj Mahal for the newlyweds' first dance.

That pic of the kids by that stock pond: that pond is one of many stocked by the TX Lunker Share program. If you bring in a monster bass of either sex, you donate it to the program for progeny development.
They are then seeded in protected ponds, and state hatcheries, and their spawn is in turn re-introduced into the lakes around the state.
There are some REALLY BIG FISH in that pond. Why W’d retire to Dallas is beyond me.
Even though her Daddy was a real goober of a President, I hope Amy and her husband are still very happy together.
Thanks for the ping = enjoying reading all I can. Very proud that groom is WFU graduate (NC - Winston Salem).
The Texas Share A Lunker Program was/is a great idea, and has kept some major big bass genes in the genepool of Texas, and other state’s lakes.
I fish in Texas every year, and can tell you I enjoy the big fish there.
I suspect Jenna has had her arm bent by a few of these (as her extended family does), and the fact she married at one of these lakes makes me feel secure she is a down to earth person.
Soon as she took off that wedding dress she and her groom probably cast a few spinnerbaits in that nice small lake/pond.
The Bush family members are down to earth folks, and although they have achieved much in the public sector, they also, I suspect, could hang out with the best of us lowly anglers (grin).
When facing/battling the great and lowly beasts (fish, fowl, God’s creatures) we humans are all equal.
Thanks for the ping. Beautiful pictures. I especially like the one of President Bush picking up the Marine’s hat. That’s the sort of thing he does with no publicity except on the Internet by someone who was there.
Jenna’s dress is so perfect for her. The picture of her alone taken in the late evening sun is stunning. She looks so happy and beautiful.
Can you imagine if W let about 50 of us freepers hit that!
That is a gorgeous dress on a lovely lady. Love the setting too. It must have been a beautiful wedding and I wish the young couple a very very long and happy marriage.
Laura looks great too.
What is even more telling about this is that people like Hillary Clinton would not stoop to pick up anyone’s hat even when NOT POTUS.
This is one of the things I like about our President.
I take it you didn’t like Blazing Saddles. While you are talking about CLASS, let me remind you that so far you have called me an Idiot and now, someone with no class. Think about that for a minute and take a good look inside yourself.
I'll be in Texas attending my nephew's wedding in July! While I LOVE Alabama and raising my children here, I did grow up in Texas and do miss alot about the whole Texas attitude.
exactly..and who would have thought someone would take a picture. He does this naturally..as with his mother. So very sweet and thoughtful. Thanks for posting all the pictures. Spectacular. Much better than at the White House! We will miss the Bushes! Plus, I love how Laura referred to Henry as “son” and not son-in-law,
I think Barbara is the prettier twin. But they’re both cute.
Simply remarking about the tone of a post is not calling you name.
As for Blazing Saddles, funny stuff, Been along time and I don't recall the connection
My apologies if you took offense, none was intended
Not only was it classy in every respect, but it appears it is full of love, joy and Texas!
(I love, and I mean LOVE our President and the tremendous people he surrounds himeself with...always have. I hope this day was one great big joyful, stress free celebration for all of the families present.)
***I get the feeling she would just as soon shoot someone as look at them. LOL!***
I get the sense that Barbara is a worrier. While Jenna’s laughing at life, Barbara is the one who takes life more seriously. Either quality is good, just different.
Thank you for the info. My apologies to Mr. Hager and the Bush family. I should have known better!
Another typical white wedding with a white pastor, oh wait...never mind.
Ah, a flower child...
I am going to miss this classy family. W is so dignified and his warmth and down to earth attitude really comes thru when he talks and the girls are just beautiful and earthy and just so genuine and class acts as is their gorgeous mom Laura. She just seems so happy and content -I think that is why Laura and daughters are so beautiful because they are so happy and it comes thru. What a grand day for all of them and I am so glad it was a private affair away from the cameras.
