Neither of these two could do the damage to Conservatism that a leftist John McCain could from within the Conservative movement itself.

Kidding, right? Obama is financed by George Soros.

McCain is linked with Goerge Soros also.  Soros funded one of McCain's pet projects.  So did another leading socialist jackass whose name I can recall right now.

His buddies are old SDS and Weathermen. He has the appearance of giving Hamas and Iran a do-good. He did fire his advisor who contacted Hamas, but that was probably a cosmetic “Oh! WTF! We got caught” moment.

I don't necessarily disagree about Obama, but whose fellow traveler is McCain, since he has also been in bed with Soros?  Let's not forget that McCain has advocated closing down Gitmo, granting the terrorists there Geneva Convention status, wants water boarding stopped and has advocated they have access to our courts.  If Obama proposed this the Republican would stand up in unison and rebell!  If McCain proposes it, the RNC and Congressional Republicans will be on board.  That's what I'm trying to explain.

This guy has so much baggage and so many bad elements surrounding him that I doubt, sincerely, the country could survive four years of him. Dickie Durbin and his cronies are socialists.

As bad as Obama is, at least he would have opposition.  If McCain proposes something leftist, the Democrats, the RNC and the Congressional Republicans will go along.  People on this very forum will find a multitude of reason to explain away John's treachery.  Look at his vote for Ginsberg.  I have folks tell me that wasn't so bad all the time.  They do so because John did it.  If Ted Kennedy did it (and I'm certain he did), they'd be willing to castrate the guy over it.  Isn't this dynamic obvious, and very troubling to you?

“The Global Poverty Act,” has just been rushed through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, with the assistance of Democratic Senator Joe Biden, the chairman, and Republican Senator Richard Lugar. The legislation (S.2433) commits the U.S. to spending hundreds of billions of dollars more in foreign aid on the rest of the world, in order to comply with the “Millennium Goals” established by the United Nations. Conservative members of the committee were largely caught off-guard by the move to pass the Obama bill but are putting a “hold” on it, in order to try to prevent the legislation, which also quickly passed the House, from being quickly brought up for a full Senate vote.”  Okay, but who opposes John McCain when he proposes global warming legislation?  Almost nobody will.  The Democrats will back him because it's their agenda.  The RNC will back him because he's their point man.  The Republicans in Congress that want White House access and quid pro quo will as well.  We won't have anyone left to oppose him.

The European socialists are also running Obama.  And on Global Warming, Gitmo and a number of other issues, who drives John McCain.  John has already stated that we need to listen to the E.U. more.  How much more clear could it be?

We cannot stand four years of this guy. The country will never recover from it as it takes years and years to undo damage and sometimes it never heals.

You tell me what four years of John McCain leadership will do to the Conservative movment.  Here, let's make this easier.  I'm going to attach a commentary I have developed and posted lately.  See if it makes any sense to you.

Senator John McCain wants to be the figure-head of Conservatism.  Okay, lets think that out...

John McCain becomes President.  He's still the same old John McCain.

The RNC backs his liberal policies to maintain a position of power
The Republicans in Congress back his polices to maintain access to the White House
Republican candidates for Congressional seats move to the left, since John McCain proved that moving to the left assures
RNC support  and
votes
The Republican party leadership at the state level moves left as McCain and the RNC demand it
Republican candidates at the state level move to the left, since John McCain proved that moving to the left assures Republican support and votes
Republican Conservative office holders across the nation will be silenced
Apologists on Conservative forums across this nation defend McCain against the few Conservatives who are left, and attack them there (forums move left)
Last but not least, the Democrats move even farther left to differentiate themselves from McCain

Who writes Conservative bills and rams them through state or federal government after that?

Who talks about Conservatism from a position of power?  Who takes the chance to disagree with McCain on anything?

Under a John McCain Presidency, Conservatism ceases to become a movement, and becomes a theory.  It will no longer be practiced by enough politicians to be viable.

Under leftist McCain, there is no functional opposition.  Promoting leftist policy, it all passes without opposition, nobody objects to the liberal policies
Under leftist Hillary or Barack, there is not only a functional opposition, it grows by leaps and bounds in objection to their policies

We saw what a one party system did to Arkansas under Clinton.  It was terrible.  Now we want to install that in our federal government, leftists one and all.

No thanks.  Color me dumb, but I'm not voting to turn the U.S. into 1980s Arkansas.

Folks, you either wake the hell up, or doom conservatism to oblivion.  After November the 4th, it's too late.  You will have silenced Conservatism in our nation for four or eight years, and quite possibly forever.

Leiberman supports the War On Terror. I assume you do too. Thus you are a socialist donk like Leiberman.

Feel good to tar with that big bad brush?

If your really don't see a difference between Obama and McCain I think your in a sad condition and need to take a breath, exhale and think again. If you still feel that way then just go ahead and vote for Obama because you obviously will feel more comfortable with the nut jobs in his camp.

I read some of the post in this thread and I feel like our republic is headed for real trouble in the near future when folks can't seem to sort out or understand the real issues.

This is my fear, as well, and that's terrifying, considering McCain's positions on amnesty, global warming, CFR, Gitmo, ANWR, etc.
