One of Barack Obamas Middle East policy advisers disclosed yesterday that he had held meetings with the militant Palestinian group Hamas prompting the likely Democratic nominee to sever all links with him.
Robert Malley told The Times that he had been in regular contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza and is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organisation. Such talks, he stressed, were related to his work for a conflict resolution think-tank and had no connection with his position on Mr Obamas Middle East advisory council.
Ive never hidden the fact that in my job with the International Crisis Group I meet all kinds of people, he added.
Ben LaBolt, a spokesman for Mr Obama, responded swiftly: Rob Malley has, like hundreds of other experts, provided informal advice to the campaign in the past. He has no formal role in the campaign and he will not play any role in the future. The rapid departure of Mr Malley followed 48 hours of heated clashes between John McCain, the Republican nominee-elect, and Mr Obama over Middle East policy.

Randy Scheunemann, Mr McCains foreign policy chief, suggested that Mr Malley was part of an emerging pattern in which other advisers had been repudiated after throwing confusion over policies on trade and Iraq. Perhaps because of his inexperience Senator Obama surrounds himself with advisers that contradict his stated policies, he said.

If Obama is elected I’ll take it as a sign that God intends to make us suffer for our transgressions and severely too.
Obama sacks a guy for doing what he (Obama) has said he would do as President.

Malleys Arafat Connection
While Robert Malleys past history might seem typical for a bright young man pursuing a senior Middle East policy position in a future Democratic administration, digging a little deeper reveals something quite untypical in his past. Robert Malley grew up in France, where his Egyptian-born father, Simon Malley, and New York raised mother, Barbara (Silverstein) Malley, were radical publishers of a controversial magazine about Africa and the so-called Third World. Malleys parents were rabidly anti-Israel and counted Yasir Arafat as a personal friend. Indeed, Arafat was among those leaders (for want of a better word) who intervened with the French government to readmit the Malley family to France after they had been expelled for their radical activities.
That is, while in the Clinton administration Malley dealt directly with Palestinian matters, and with Yasir Arafat himself, despite having a huge and hidden conflict of interest: close ties between his family and Yasir Arafat.
Well, hidden from the public when questioned about it in 2001, Dennis Ross, Clintons senior Middle East adviser, said that the Clinton administration knew all about Malleys past.
While CAMERA did not publish all the facts at the time, we did mention the ties between Malley and Arafat in an article in 2005.
But now, with Malley possibly a Middle East advisor to a major presidential candidate, it seems the full story should be exposed. I will try to minimize repetition of what others have recently published on this subject, while still laying out the facts in a coherent way.
I think it's more liberalism and no.
Damn. I thought that privately sharing tea-time with the bad guys was illegal.
There is no such thing as "treason" in America anymore. One proof of that is we nearly elected a traitor for President in 04.
:-(
Point taken.
If it were Nancy Pelooser would be in jail.
Both Obama and Malley clearly violated the Logan Act. Both should be prosecuted and tossed in the federal Greybar Hotel.
§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments.

Better start looking busy.
One can hope that GWB will take a principled stand ... for a change.
Bookmarked and thanks!
It IS Illegal, but unless Obama is elected, I don’t see this guy leaving London anytime soon.
Besides, why would we start prosecuting traitors NOW, anyway, after all that has happened?
Re: “If Obama is elected President, not even GOD will be able to save us..”
Obama’s pastor doesn’t want God to save us, he wants God to damn us.
If he associates with them, full knowing their backgrounds, no way should he ever see the inside of the Oval Office.
If he is/was unaware of their backgrounds - he isn't/wasn't, but just for arguments sake - then he is too naive, ignorant, inexperienced to ever be let into the Oval Office ...no middle ground here
There are more reds and islamofascists under Obama’s tent. It is just a matter of time before they are exposed.
Trust me!
