One of Barack Obamas Middle East policy advisers disclosed yesterday that he had held meetings with the militant Palestinian group Hamas prompting the likely Democratic nominee to sever all links with him.
Robert Malley told The Times that he had been in regular contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza and is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organisation. Such talks, he stressed, were related to his work for a conflict resolution think-tank and had no connection with his position on Mr Obamas Middle East advisory council.
Ive never hidden the fact that in my job with the International Crisis Group I meet all kinds of people, he added.
Ben LaBolt, a spokesman for Mr Obama, responded swiftly: Rob Malley has, like hundreds of other experts, provided informal advice to the campaign in the past. He has no formal role in the campaign and he will not play any role in the future. The rapid departure of Mr Malley followed 48 hours of heated clashes between John McCain, the Republican nominee-elect, and Mr Obama over Middle East policy.

Randy Scheunemann, Mr McCains foreign policy chief, suggested that Mr Malley was part of an emerging pattern in which other advisers had been repudiated after throwing confusion over policies on trade and Iraq. If you all are curious to see the video of McCain saying “sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them one way or another” (in regards to Hamas and their legitimacy), the video is from Sky News. Huffington Post has it, but I don’t recommend it unless you have a strong stomach to wade through that site. I have a feeling it won’t be hard to find soon though - the dims will spread it and make it sound like Obama was repeating what McCain said (McCain had a very good point about the fact that they were the defacto government and we’d have to deal with them sooner or later).
So let’s see, Obama is declining to unilaterally overturn the policy that’s been officially agreed on not only by the Bush administration, but also by the Middle East Quartet (the EU, the UN, and Russia)?
Will the idiot press ask him that question? Did he support the this policy in the first place, so he now disagrees with the EU, UN, and Russia?
So will he now be called a COWBOY by the MSM and governments worldwide?
Meantime, 'too late smart' offers us only a doomsday scenario.
'Hope' - for sure; if you are the power elite of the New World Order. . .
Change here as well: 'Labor Force' will become 'Forced Labor'!
Hey, Marxism has new faces; and that's a change - and for 'Radicals' of all colors and idiological persuasions; there IS hope.
And, buyers of 'change' check the map before you plan your trip to Israel.
(No doubt, Obama means it, when he says 'he will be 'with' Israel. . .albeit metaphorically; as he no doubt, forsees a 'change of address'. . .)
'Why Grandmother, what big teeth you have!
