Propaganda-driven kids attack think tank (Barf Alert)

Students at a California public school have written a series of letters to Chicago's Heartland Institute, which works to discover and develop free-market solutions to society's problems, attacking its members for "destroying our planet" by refusing to endorse the politics of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" film.

According to students in the sixth-grade class of teacher Michael Steria at David A. Brown Middle School, the institute consists of "fools" and "horrible people."

"I think your (sic) fools for denying G.W. you know it could kill us all & you're just adding to it. I want you to help stop G.W. not increase it," said one letter.

"We are going to tell you about global warming. I don't care if you don't want to read, but I'm making you read it you horrible people," said another.

Officials at the school, a part of the Lake Elsinore School District, declined to respond to WND requests for a comment. Officials at the district office also declined to respond.

I was able to make a DVD copy of the Great Global Warming Swindle before it was pulled from the Internet. (I understand it is now back.)

Anyway, I gave a copy of it to a high school teacher who was conducting a class in current events. He had shown them “An Inconvenient Truth” and to his credit was looking for something to counter Gore’s opus. He said that the film generated the most discussion yet on any topic presented.

It’s encouraging that at least some instructors are interested in teaching their students to think and analyze.

“She really doesn’t get it. The scary thing is that she does vote.”

Back a few years ago when the Mars ice caps were in the news I made the joking comment to a client about how “all these SUVs and our CO2 its getting so bad that now even the Mars icecaps are melting”. I figured he would realize the absurdity because of his profession. Instead he commented something like “The Mar’s ice caps are now melting too? We really need to get on top of this RIGHT now, but nothing will happen with Bush and Big Oil in office, etc.”

Oh - his profession? An environmental engineer. That’s scary!

Around a decade ago, one of my brothers in Norway told us of ugly school-based propaganda targeted against Norwegians, who had resumed whaling after certain species had rebounded to harvestable levels.

He said that grade school teachers in the US and other European countries taught their classes lies about whales being in great danger of extinction due to Norway's supposedly cruel, genocidal rampage. The teachers had been supplied with names & addresses of Norwegian teachers and schools, and Norwegian newspapers. The propaganda they fed the kids (no doubt from lesson plans they didn't write themselves) drove many kids to intense states of pain, tears, terror and hysteria.

Then the kids were told it was up to them to write letters that might just very well save the whales from extinction, or at least from merciless slaughter. The teachers gathered up these begging, pleading, borderline-hysteria letters, some of which had little margin notes from the teachers pointing out the tear-stains in case the reader might miss them, and mailed them off to various addresses in Norway.

My impression was that this was more counter-productive than productive, as it infuriated many Norwegians to witness how outside pressure groups with political axes to grind were willing to manipulate children, no matter what collateral damage might be done, to gain their objectives.

When I was 10 years old, a white 20 something teacher came to my mostly White, middle class Jewish school to teach us “Black Studies.” Not only did we go to see the movie SOUNDER, have to memorize the lyrics to Diana Ross’s I’M LIVING IN SHAME, we were bussed to Wyandanch (at the time, the only predominantly black school on Long Island) to see “THE BLACK CHILDREN” I am not making that up.

After months of this, I came home, looked my Father in the eye and said, “YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE THE REASON BLACKS ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINSt.” I have never seen my dear Father look so mad in his life. He sat me down and gave me the “Listen up Little girl” speech and proceeded to tell me the history of my family, how they came from Hungary fighting oppression and how my grandfather skimped and saved to make a better life for his children. I became a Conservative that day.

Here’s my point. This kind of indoctrination has been going on for years. That story was 38 years ago. Those white, middle class Jewish kids from Long Island are now the ones who are running the Country now...there worldview based in guilt. And that, my friend, is the sad truth.

Kindergartens started in Prussia in the 19th Century, with the idea that “the government is the true parent of the children

I align with Jungian philosophy...a favorite quote from Jung: "the number one goal in life is to parent oneself....very few reach that in their lifetimes....". This is the socialist agenda...to indoctrinate everyone to never mature and view the state/government as parent once raised by your own...

Thanks for the posting; I am not very interested in polite discussion amongst the informed. Screaming the facts is the only way you get someones attention. That’s what Gore did and there hasn’t been any real rebuttal on the subject except that nerd who studied the NASA data base and found huge flaws. The problem must be the instructors in these schools are as dumb as sticks and aren’t able to see the forest because of too many trees. As far as I have read there doesn’t seem to be any money to prove Gore is a fool. The one story that had government agreement was that case in England where the judge put restrictions on English schools due to real science disputing Gore’s insanity. Don’’t forget that the teachers have been sent through the same educational system, receiving the same training dumbing down everyone so degenerates can get a diploma. This is the real problem IMO.

And the sad thing is that people actually believe this garbage.

If somebody wants to create a car engine that will get 75-100 mpg, I think it is wonderful...if only for the fact that it will cut down on my gas budget every payday.

I would say that the same goes for electrical-generating power plants, except that I live in Kentucky and we have extremely low electrical costs thanks to the power plants burning local coal. But it would still be nice for the rest of the country.

I couldn’t remember which one it was, so I just used the first one I thought of. Too lazy to find a dictionary or go to dictionary.com.

Oh well.

I have just come to the realization that the left is responsible for global warming. One of those ‘unintended consequences’ the left is know for.

A Nuke power plant, in southern Indiana, would replace 3 coal fired power plants and would have been operational in 1977. 31 years of spewing CO2. Do you think these kids will ever hear about this? No, suppression of facts to support misplaced emotional responses is their forte.

This article and the one by Sowell are a perfect pairing. This one reminds me to point out that it is child abuse for political activists to frighten children for political gain. I remember that during the heyday of the nuclear freeze movement, teachers and invited guests were describing in vivid detail to children in classrooms how they would be fried if a nuclear weapon were detonated. Then, when the children, predictably, had nightmares, they were trotted out before the media to say how frightened they were.

This all post-dated the end of the war in Japan, and the fact that no more nuclear weapons were ever used never caused a single nuclear freeze activist to apologize for using the children as propaganda. Probably many of those same activists are now beating today’s children over the heads with the threats to their well-being from global warming.

Parents could have stopped this both times by vociferous complaints to the schools and the media.

This is another reason why, if we ever want to be free men again, the public schools should be abolished.

Public schools are nothing but socialist indoctrination camps that also help people learn to accept arbitrary exertions of power by “the proper authorities”.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

This kind of B.S. and C.F. are why I and far more people than not support the concept of home schooling.

What the dumba***s and p***heads running this school are doing is absolutely and postively criminal as far as I'm concerned. These sorry, lazymiserable good for nothing p***heads all belong in prison.

All I can say is if this is the future of America than we are al in big, big trouble.
