if you’re making more than $100,000 and certainly if you’re making more than $200,000 or $250,000, you’re doing pretty well.”

So I'm gonna punish you for it!

You are correct, sir. In the last debate, it was pointed out to Obama that cutting the capital gains tax would result in a dramatic increase in tax revenues. Obama responded that it wasn't about raising more revenue; instead, it was a matter of fairness, and it simply wasn't fair that someone made a lot of money on capital gains.

Yes, Obama is a straight-up Marxist.

The problem is our taxes have already been raised because of the Bush Administration’s embrace of the weak dollar.

If the next president is able to reduce the deficit, that will strengthen our dollar. Causing the price of Gas to drop.

The other thing he’s not mentioning is that figure is PER HOUSEHOLD, not per salary. Think about that for a minute. Taxes aren’t computed per salary, they are computed per household, so he’s talking a per household figure. How many households do you know that make $100K that are “wealthy”?

Exactly. Tax rates are so high on a second income (when the first one is a reasonably good one) that I'm chosing not to work. Why do so when when over 50% of my paycheck get redistributed elsewhere? It's not hardly worth it. (As a side note, very very few of the people I explain this to seem to understand the simple math. It's either denial or our education system at work.)

If our taxes go up on my $100k+ salary, perhaps we'll have to think about cutting back on non-essential nicities, like our bi-weekly cleaning service, as we continue to work to pay off tens of thousands of dollars of debt we incurred to adopt our son from Russia.

Too bad, really, our cleaning service is a nice young lady working hard to make ends meet.
