Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama flatly promised to raise taxes in a television interview Thursday afternoon.
I will raise CEO taxes, Obama told CNNs Wolf Blitzer on The Situation Room.
If youre a CEO in this country youll probably pay more taxes, Obama said. Obama speculated his CEO tax rates wont be prohibitively high, youll pay roughly what you did in the 90s when they were doing fine.
Obama also said he would eliminate the Bush tax cuts and install what he called a middle class tax cut.
Blitzer asked Obama to define middle class.
Obama replied, You know, I think the definitions are always a little bit rough and said if youre making $100,000 a year or less, then youre pretty solidly middle class On the other hand, if youre making more than $100,000 and certainly if youre making more than $200,000 or $250,000, youre doing pretty well.
The CNN interview was the first one Obama has held since Tuesdays primaries in Indiana and North Carolina. In it, the Illinois senator also discussed his judicial philosophy. Obama, who has delivered constitutional lectures at University of Chicago Law School, said he thought Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a very sensible judge. He also hinted he would place special emphasis on civil rights protections when appointing Supreme Court judges if elected President.
Weve got to make sure civil liberties are protected, Obama said. Because oftentimes there are pressures placed on politicians to want to set civil liberties aside, especially at a time when weve had terrorist attacks. Making sure we maintain our separation of powers so that we dont have a president who is takes over more and more power, I think those are all criteria by which Id judge whether or not this is a good appointee.
Why doesn’t he just cap salary...that way Oprah, the hollywood crowd and the fortune 500 CEO’s can be told that 1 million is the limit everything else will be given to the government.... Maybe then the idiots will have second thoughts about supporting the Marxist.
Masterfully he plays the true blue 100 percent liberal, unashamedly wearing it on his sleeve under the guise of a Come on guys, you all know things arent working out right because the media and the left have been driving this point home to you no matter how well off things actually have been, forget that Islamo-Nazis came to this country on 911 to kill us and will come again to terrorize us by killing our children, forget about being on offense and fighting a pre-emptive battle before more American citizens pay for the governments Failure to imagine the threat before it materializes. You are indoctrinated and made to believe that we are on the wrong track, my change is simply Karl Marx vision for this country and if you dont agree with it then you are more of the same old D.C. problems that dont work. You are the reason for change, either that or you are a bigot, racist, homophobe, white Christian Conservative and the rest of the country would like you silenced.
Sadly, he did.
Republicans did not find Ginsburg to be a controversial nominee and on Thursday, July 29, 1993, the Judiciary Committee voted unanimously in favor of her confirmation, a mere six days after the hearings concluded. The Senate then approved Ginsburg's nomination by a vote of 96 to 3. The three dissenters were Conservative Republicans Jesse Helms (R-North Carolina), Don Nichols (sic) (R- Oklahoma), and Robert C. Smith (R-New Hampshire). Sen. Helms said he voted against her because of her position on abortion and the "homosexual agenda."

Oprah’s bank account is gonna take a nice hit with this one.
I just heard tonight on MSNBC how Obama will win the south since blacks will come out in force and how he will win all the typical blue states as well. If the GOP big shots had not hand picked McCain as the nominee I would say there is not a chance in hell of that happening.
But now? After watching how far this schmuck has gotten AND beating the Clinton Crime Syndicate?
Anything can happen
LOL! What a dumbass. How is it possible that I am nobody, and I don’t know anything, and yet I am certain I would know better than to say the stupid things he does?
bttt
lolol.
I swear he is just pushing how far he can push his crappy agenda on dumbed down americans happily gobbling up ipods and plasma tvs without a thought of what voting for obama actually means.
correction: seeing how far he can push :)
Brilliant. Raise taxes on small business owners and entrepreneurs.
Marxist idiot.
“Tax the Kennedy Trustfunders ‘08”
“He is already using the word investment when he really means taxes and bigger government with the only investment going to Washington DC.”
“We don’t call them laws, we call them concepts”
Jerry Brown
The 60% of the electorate who are “independents”, which really means they are clueless and too busy to embrace conservatism and the angry Hillary voters will coalesce around McCain.
This is going to be a McCain landslide.
If I were him, I would continue to piss me off and distance myself from Conservatives.
It’s a slam dunk.
I only pray that he will realize that the NY Times and his liberal fellow legislators are not his friends. Maybe he will govern from the right just to spite them.

Bush Derangement Syndrome ... ROTFLMAO
I guess that means that Hussein won't be pushing for gun control. /acid-dripping sarcasm
IMHO, by what Obama had said must be helping McCain lick his chops bigtime.
Obama announces he will raise taxes. In other news the Grand Alliance of Bears announce that they will now be performing their bathroom duties in the woods.
Well, it looks like I better not work any overtime next year, if Obama wins, otherwise I’ll squeek over the line and run straight out of my middle classness.
