The practice of political correctness may soon be tallying another casualty: the pig. Increasingly, as America and the rest of the Western world continue accommodating Muslim religious demands, pork food products are being singled out for removal from dining tables and pig-related trinkets banished from the desks of office workers.
If this continues, good ol American food, such as barbeque replete with hot dogs and ribs and the typical American breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausage, might be seen as the equivalent of political poison. Could outright censorship of pig depictions in drawings, pig references in literary works and pig portrayals in movies be far behind? Could the well-known, cartoon figure Porky Pig become a cultural embarrassment of our unenlightened past as we fear to utter the P word?...
In 2004, a Muslim-owned investment company, Arcapita (formerly Capital Crescent Investments) acquired the 1,200-unit Churchs Chicken chain. In 2005, Arcapita, with a net income of $70.5 million and assets worth $1.2 billion (2004), enjoined a franchisee from selling pork products. In correspondence with the franchisee, the corporate owners cited violation of shariah law as the reason for prohibiting the sale of bacon, ham and sausages. The restaurant owners were thereby forced to surrender to corporate demands and operate under shariah law. ...

Babe and Arnold the pig will be in the unemployment line.
If God had meant for us to not eat pig, he wouldn’t have made it so damn delicious. Same for beer.
Watch out for that fatone (or however it is spelled.)

All animals are equal. But some are more equal than others.
Serving bacon, scrapple, and sausage with every hot meal.
Pork Chops should be an option in EVERY restaurant!
And they can have my country style spare ribs when I'm pushin’ up daises.
I tell you what, I'd hate to “eradicate” a religion (or the people that practice it), but I'm seriously thinking it might be the only option.
Women have chocolate. Men have bacon.
Great cartoon. What would we do without Cox & Forkum?
And what would life be like without bacon?
I wonder if this is why it has become so hard to find canned ham, like Dak (danish) brand.
I’ve been stocking up, both on cost savings (with food prices going up) and in case of storm season related power outages. It tastes good, requires no cooking, and can sit there for 2 years if necessary.
Yet canned hams are harder to find, especially the Dak (danish) brand.
A.) the answer to this madness: http://www.peacethroughpork.com/
B.) I ain’t eatin’ at Church’s Chicken no mo.
HHHMMMMMMM....is any official doing more research into that? (Love your tag line.)
Sorry, the Muzzies aren’t taking away my bacon and pork chops.
Maybe it's only a Shi'i interpretation, but it was my understanding that it was only haram to buy the pork, but the act of selling it to a non-Muslim was okay. Not that it makes much difference, though, since how will they acquire the pork to sell in the first place?
I have been told by some that part of modern islamic
belief contains the notion that a Muslim cannot be
guaranteed a place in Paradise, even if living an obversant
life. The term is “em-shalah” or something that sounds like
that. It means, something like “if God wills”...
So why they would want to push a law on you (i.e. don’t
eat this, eat this other thing...) that cannot
guarantee entrance into paradise is beyond me...it sounds
like human insecurity, and frustration about having no
solid promise about the future.
Well, they'll have to scrape mine out of my arteries!
Is that Mo-HAM-med?
