Sali with “big oil” – Minnick with you (ID 1st District)
Walt Minnick for Congress ^ | 6 May 2008 | John Foster

Press Release

By John Foster - May 06, 2008

Walt Minnick today offered Idaho drivers low-cost gasoline to call attention to the abject failure of Washington, D.C. to address our nation’s energy crisis. He also slammed Bill Sali for his cozy relationship with “big oil.”

“For one hour today, while I’m talking to Idahoans about the high cost of gasoline, Bill Sali will sit down to lunch at a fundraiser and ask for money from oil lobbyists,” Minnick said. “In 18 months he’s become a true Washington insider. What Idaho needs is a new approach and some simple fairness.”

Oil companies are raking in record profits, OPEC and countries in the Middle East are getting rich off the protection offered by our soldiers, and Idahoans aren’t getting any relief.

Meanwhile, Bill Sali defends the huge subsidies for “big oil” and says the solution is to give those companies another handout by allowing them to drill right here at home in our most pristine wilderness areas.

“Sali’s plan is to ruin our natural resources in a search for energy we wouldn’t be able to use for a decade or more,” Minnick said.

Minnick said we must end subsidies for oil companies, and should implement aggressive and strict measures to reduce price gouging at the pump.

“We also need a fresh approach to alternative and renewable source of energy,” Minnick said. “For example, by using byproducts from Idaho fields and forests as a resource for biofuels, we can add good-paying jobs right here at home.”

This to me is the money line in the Minnick press release:

In 18 months he’s [Sali] become a true Washington insider. What Idaho needs is a new approach and some simple fairness

Yeah, as though Minnick wouldn't immediately become a Nancy Pelosi lap dog if the unthinkable happens and he wins. Maybe he should run against Simpson in the 2nd district and see if anyone can tell the difference.

Minnick Endorses Obama for President News Release

By Walt Minnick Campaign - January 30, 2008

Believes Obama can make the changes needed to fix the problems facing Idaho and America

(BOISE) – Walt Minnick, First Congressional District candidate and long-time Idaho businessman, announced today that he’s backing Senator Barack Obama for President.

“Senator Obama will bring the kind of change we so desperately need in Washington,” said Minnick. “I admire his passion for our country, his ability to bring people together across party lines to get things done and his commitment to elevating the political dialogue above the petty partisan bickering we’ve seen far too much…

Sali represents my district. Two years ago he won a hotly contested GOP Primary and a few of the RINOs that ran against him when Steven Moore’s Club For Growth ran some spots destroying the other RINOs in the race. They all whined about it to the drive-bys (one of which is my current employer) around here, but they got exposed and they had to just sit there and take it. :)

Even though Club for Growth is very open borders (or so I’m told) it was funny as all hell to see them own the local RINOs.

Oh, yeah the D’s around here are all in love with B. Hussein. I believe even Cecil the Diesel Andrus did as well...I can’t believe we were the state responsible for Frank Church and Cecil Andrus...

Sorry America, hope you’ll forgive us.

Either that or he’s looking squarely at the Hugo Chavez nationalization of oil companies in Venezuela as a model for America’s oil industry.

Obama has demonstrated no ability at all. Every bill associated with him has been handed to him by someone else. His Global Poverty Tax seeks to levy $800 billion in taxes on U.S. taxpayers that goes straight to the criminals at the United Nations. His passion for the United States is reflected by his unwillingness to salute the flag when the national anthem is played and his 20 year membership in the Black Liberation Theology church of Jeremiah Wright. That demonstrates poor judgment and a lack of character. Obama tried to "elevate political dialogue" by spewing endless vacuous platitudes...all with the intent to hide his real political positions. Finally, he started offering what he has in mind. Huge tax increases. He's a stinking socialist who is far left of Hillary. Both of them are stinking socialists.

If Minnick is endorsing Obama, I suspect his politics run along the same lines. He's spewing BS about pushing biofuels to "create good paying jobs at home". BS. We've already seen the consequences of corn to ethanol. The RATS have no clue.

Who is this populist moron whackjob? Minnick? Does he not have Clue One About Economics?!?

“Sali’s plan is to ruin our natural resources in a search for energy we wouldn’t be able to use for a decade or more,” Minnick said." Well if we got started about 10 years ago when Clinton vetoed it ... we'd have it right about now! ... And 10 years from now, when we will *still* need the oil, then what? More high prices, Mr Moron Populist?

“Sorry America, hope you’ll forgive us.”

Your penance is to send this moron Liberal Obama-loving basher of business and common-sense into political oblivion.

Sali sounds like a great Congresscritter if he is getting criticized this lamely. Help get reelected by 60%+.

thx

“The first time I see a vehicle from Walt’s campaign I will help him out by putting some byproducts from Idaho’s fields and forests in its tank . “

LOL.

His campaign is a ‘biofuels’ campaign ... from the horse’s rear to the campaign speech direct.

Who is this populist moron whackjob?

A guy that will lose and lose in a rout to Sali in November. There are enough bitter, contrarian libs and disaffected union thugs in our district that might vote for him, but it's always fun to point out the dopes that try and make a name for themselves as Dims around here.
