My friend who works at the University says they are in lockdown mode because there is a gunman on the loose in the library. Anyone have more info?
Now that makes a difference. Understand he might also be wearing a raid jacket...good lord, don’t let this be a nut or a Beslan in the making.
Students at the University of Richmond have been asked to stay indoors after a suspicious person possibly carrying a gun was spotted on campus.
According to University officials, the suspicious person was spotted at the Boatwright Memorial Library on the Richmond side of the campus.
The suspect is described as white male with short blond hair, a slender build, wearing a navy blue T-shirt. He may have been wearing a fake gray beard. University officials said the suspect refused to identify himself to library employees.
University of Richmond, Henrico and Richmond Police are all on scene. Students have been asked to stay where they are. There is no word of any injuries or shots being fired.
A text message was sent to Richmond students warning them of the situation and asking them to use caution.
St. Christopher’s School nearby the campus said they have locked their doors and moved all students into the gym as a precaution.

24 minutes? Yeah...I’m glad I’m out of school.
Incredibly small and and incredibly slow. If you weren’t looking for the alert you’d never find it. They better hope something doesn’t happen, for more reasons than one.
Yeah me too. The VT thing freaked me out.
Although if something nuts is going to happen it could be anywhere.

Updated 5/6 - 4:43pm
CBS 6 has learned that there were two sightings of the man. The first took place around 3pm, the second 20 minutes later. He was seen at the 815 Cafe, which is located inside the Boatwright Memorial Library Complex, by school employees. Employees believe the man was wearing a fake gray beard. Right now, police are looking through the library room by room.
If i knew there was a shooting at a campus I was at I would be off hiding in a hollow tree trunk or something.
I would get out of there so fast.
Richmond, Henrico and University of Richmond Police have responded to a report of an armed person on the U-of-R campus. A university spokesman says that students and faculty are being told to stay where they are and to lock their doors. Police are looking for a white male with sandy blond hair. The suspect is said to have been wearing a brown or black jacket with “Sheriff” written across the back and was carrying a firearm.
Only one with a University...Virginia.
No shots have been reported fired, said Linda Evans, the spokeswoman.
Scent dogs are being used in the investigation at the library at this hour. A surveillance photo was taken in the library, but authorities are not releasing it at this time.
“Weve had two different reports from witnesses who said he had a firearm,” Evans said. The last time the person was reported seen was about 3:25 p.m. He was first seen about 3 p.m.
God I hope they get him.
hopefully hes in a play acting the part of the sheriff with a fake gun. Although that would be a very bad mix-up
Any chance the individual was indeed law enforcement?
Police have found the beard that the subject was wearing when first spotted and police are using dogs to hopefully pick up the trail. Most of the outside police presence has dispersed. The campus is still on lock down officially but movement is becoming more free. The University of Richmond, Herico and Richmond City police should be commended on there quick response.
Henrico Police tend to do good work.

Until then the wet panty brigade and/or any nutjob [including fanatic muzzies] will continue to have full control over those pasteurized masses by merely saying 'boo'...
