I think it's nice they chose a small wedding over a huge production, much nicer IMHO.

Frankly, I think it’s nice to have a wedding at the White House once in a while. Why not Jenna?

I don’t get all goose-pimpley at the prospect of this marriage, it’s rather ho-hum with me, but I have no problem with a White House wedding for Jena.

In fact, I would prefer it.

George Bush is a class act and would not have his daughter's wedding on our nickel... that's how I read it!

What? I'm not invited?

Well, I'll just have to show up and crash the thing.

Oh, so the groom told everyone else first and even had sis picked out the ring setting. If that’s any indication of the marriage...

I feel sorry for them. My wife and I also got married early in May. Going out to dinner on our anniversary is always a bear because we have to compete with everyone going out for Mother’s Day. Flowers are always sky-high too.

I was told that May is traditionally an unlucky month to get married in. Now I know why. It’s not that the marriage won’t last (we’ve been married over 30 years). It’s just that it is hard to celebrate it properly without a major crowd around.

Well, she is a daughter of the President. Any wedding will be big for her.
I am a bit surprised she didn't do it at the White House.
It would be great for her, great for her parents and great for the people knowing something special like a wedding recently occurred there.

I was married on Saturday, May 12, 1979. Mother's Day was the next day. I ordered flowers for my mother, my new mother-in-law and my godmother when I ordered the wedding flowers. They were delivered the next day, Sunday. We were off to Jamaica by the time they arrived, but it worked out well.

The lusty month of May is a terrific time to jump the broom and whatever comes after. ;-)

Don't do it Jenna! You're much too good for that clown. Come home with me. My wife will understand... maybe... okay, well... no, she won't and then I'll be pretty much homeless but then we can run away together, we'll buy an old VW bus, we'll live off the land, we won't have much, but we'll have each other...

Sure, it'll work, I just know it!...

I “met” Jenna and Laura Bush last week at a book signing in TX. Incredibly friendly people, they just loved to talk to the kids. Jenna was cracking jokes and full of personality, and this was three hours into the signing. Best of luck to her.

"Even John Adams didn't go on Mount Rushmore, but Teddy Roosevelt went on Mount Rushmore."

T.R. was a conservationist, who according to the Mt. Rushmore website, "set aside five National Parks, eighteen National Monuments, and millions of acres of National Forest for America." Who else should go on Mt. Rushmore, but the man who helped establish our National Park system.

As far as this young couple goes, I wish them well. They are entitled to have THEIR wedding wherever and however THEY choose. It's not about performing for the public or the press.

It’s probably more their style to have it at their ranch than have a huge shindig at the White House. Besides, with the economy perceived as being in dire trouble, thanks to the media and the politicians, and the Iraq War, it’s best they try to keep it low key.

Good for Jenna, and congratulations to her. She’s a pretty girl, and seems to have a reasonable head on her shoulders (after a couple of shaky teenage years). God bless them.

... that public bathing-suit changing thing wasn’t too bright, though (I know, pics — but I am afraid you’ll have to search for yourself on this one ... wouldn’t run that search at work if I were you).

Color me surprised! No, not at the wedding, which I think sounds absolutely lovely, but that it took so long to mention the drinking thing. In articles by the MSM about the Bush daughters, it’s so far up in the piece it’s almost in the article’s title.

Best wishes to both!
