I think it's nice they chose a small wedding over a huge production, much nicer IMHO.

Frankly, I think it’s nice to have a wedding at the White House once in a while. Why not Jenna?

I don’t get all goose-pimpley at the prospect of this marriage, it’s rather ho-hum with me, but I have no problem with a White House wedding for Jena.

In fact, I would prefer it.

George Bush is a class act and would not have his daughter's wedding on our nickel... that's how I read it!

What? I'm not invited?

Well, I'll just have to show up and crash the thing.

Oh, so the groom told everyone else first and even had sis picked out the ring setting. If that’s any indication of the marriage...

"Doug Wead is an assclown."

That was going to be my next post, but you stated it so eloquently...

I feel sorry for them. My wife and I also got married early in May. Going out to dinner on our anniversary is always a bear because we have to compete with everyone going out for Mother’s Day. Flowers are always sky-high too.

I was told that May is traditionally an unlucky month to get married in. Now I know why. It’s not that the marriage won’t last (we’ve been married over 30 years). It’s just that it is hard to celebrate it properly without a major crowd around.

I have no idea what Pres. Bush’s popularity ratings has to do with a story about his daughter getting married nor do I see the relevance rehashing Jenna and underage drinking during college years!!!! Sheesh! No wonder she wants a private wedding. I wish them all the best and hope they have as much love as the PRes & Mrs Bush have for each other.

I doubt they will ever have a hard time getting a table, and the cost of flowers probably matters little to them.

Well, she is a daughter of the President. Any wedding will be big for her.
I am a bit surprised she didn't do it at the White House.
It would be great for her, great for her parents and great for the people knowing something special like a wedding recently occurred there.

Our anniversary is April 28, we have to compete with a gazillion prom goers at the decent restaurants and for flowers.

Kind of fun though, seeing them all come in nervous as heck and trying to look like this is nothing but then seeing the sweat beads roll down their necks.

so the groom told everyone else first - I thought asking the parents was often done.

Fortunately, for Jenna, she gets to pick, she has and it’s settled. Since these things tend to be personal matters of the heart, I’m happy she loves her home so much that it’s the memory of her special day there that will stay in her heart (oh, yeah, and Henry’s, too). ;0)

It will be lovely, I’m certain. Little green apples don’t fall far from the tree, and Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Bush, Sr. are extraordinarily well bred with flawless taste.

Probably because the media would turn it into a spectical, and the anit-Bush crowd would use it as another oportunity to protest.

I swear, Jenna could win a Nobel prize, create peace in the Middle East or find a cure for cancer, and the articles on it would mention her college drinking. Ridiculous!

"This is an unpopular presidency."

Unpopular with WHO?

W has shown more class and dignity then the sinkmeister ever did in office.

She knew.

It’s a cute little story, but come on. She knew.

She isn’t dumb. Not by a long shot.

My guess is, she played along. Not wanting to spoil it for her fiance.
