Rush Limbaugh says Clinton-Obama race is proceeding precisely according to his plan
LA Times ^ | 5-6-08 | Andrew Malcolm

Rush Limbaugh, the self-appointed Commander-in-Chief of Operation Chaos, is puffing on his immense cigar and gloating at this very moment in his Florida bunker. And preparing to celebrate two more grand and glorious political victories over Democrats today, no matter who wins the primaries in Indiana and Florida.

Usually as shy and retiring as, say, P.T. Barnum, the influConservative radio talkshow host Rush Limbaugh, the self-appointed commander in chief of Operation Chaos designed to promote the candidacy of New York Senator Hillary Clinton with Republican help against Illinois Senator Barack Obama and prolong the political infighting within the democratic party as long as possibleential conservative radio talk-show host is in his bombastic element these past couple of months, ordering many of his 12 million-plus obedient daily listeners to switch their voting registration presumably from the Republican party and go cast a ballot wherever they are for Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Not because he suddenly likes her after all these years of anti-Clinton rants. Nor, judging by what he's said on the air, because he's a huge fan of the presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, who isn't conservative enough for the broadcaster.

Rushbo says he couldn't care less who wins the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. He just wants the two surviving candidates to beat up on each other as long as possible, hopefully...

into their national convention in Denver in late August.

In fact, the maverick maestro admitted during a Fox News interview Monday that he thinks Sen. Barack Obama will ultimately win the Democratic nomination. But the freshman Illinois senator will be a lot more bruised than he would have been had he floated to easy victories all winter and into the spring as Clinton fell behind in votes, delegates and money.

We’ve long passed the point where the popular vote can determine which of these two gets the nomination. There is no chance that Senator Clinton can somehow get enough votes, with crossover support or without, to earn the delegates fairly. It is now inevitable that the way this will be decided is the super delegates will get together in smoky back rooms some time before the convention to pick the nominee that they prefer, regardless of who won which states, and that will be that.

The chaos that is taking place now due to crossover voting can’t help either Democratic candidate, but it sure is hurting both of them as well as their party.

And it’s fun.

"This is meglomaniacal."

That is under stating things considerably. Rush is all about Rush and nothing else, EVERYONE, knew the Rat primary was going to be a blood bath once Obama did well early on. It was as plain as the nose on Rush's face so he gins up the name "Operation Chaos" in a transparent attempt to take credit for what EVERYONE knew was going to happen. Hell I've been doing Operation Daylight for years now to ensure the Sun rises every morning. And I get no thanks from anyone! Well now at this point "Operation Chaos" has real legs with the self appointed "Great One" barking it up everyday and guess what? Hillary just might beat Obama now.

I am going to enjoy watching Rush eat crow then Hillary beats McCain in Nov.

I'm sure he's already getting is excuses ready. Meanwhile lot's of good conservatives are going down to defeat down ballet in the late primaries cause Rush is sending votes that would go to them to Hillary. Thanks a lot Rush.

I love Ann Coulter, but even her angles have angles.

Have a burger, fries and a shake once in a while, Ann, please!

I think Hussein would be the easiest to beat in November but he seems to also be the most dangerous if the Democrats should win it. I am thus ambivalent about who I would prefer to win the Democrat nomination. I guess the best would be for Hussein to win the nod and the Clintons to go Independent. I still actually expect the Clintons to get the nomination.

Republicans would have never been able to get these issues out into the mainstream press if NOT for operation chaos. McCain slammed the NC republicans for running a wright ad. Not only would he be incapable of digging up the best dirt, he tries to keep anyone on his side from using it. Clinton has done what he could never do, tarnish Obama without being denounced as a racist for doing so. Before the wright issue, before the bitter clingers issue, Obama was unstoppable. He was going to peddle his empty rhetoric right into the white house, and if any republican tried to point a finger to his dirty past he could just play the race card to get out of it.

Now, because of operation chaos, it's a double jeopardy. If Obama gets the nod he has all of these fresh skeletons to handwave away, if Hillary steals the nod after obama has won the most pledged delegates (which is inevitable) the radicals in the democrat party will bring back the riots of '68 and trash the convention in a glorious fashion. Even if she tries to play damage control by picking Obama for vip (assuming he even accepts) it will do little to appease the nutjobs. The image of a black man serving a white woman who stole the position he "rightfully earned" will not fly for them. She won't have time to let it blow over before november and mccain will be handed the presidency by default.

The democrats only hope is to give the nod to Obama and hope that the media succeeds in downplaying his racist church, ignores the lie about the survey he claimed not to have seen but wrote on, and shuts up his loud mouthed wife who shows what the two of them really think of america.

Not really. Rush has done more for conservatives than can ever be repayed. His ticket is punched.

It’s fine to disagree with Rush, I do at times as well. But please express that in a manner less vulgar and more constructive.

Obama would be a disaster, but a disastrous Democratic President may be better than a merely bad Democratic President. I don't think Obama could get anything done, which, if it's a Democrat in charge, may not be a bad thing.

This comment posted under "Comments" at the LATimes is priceless:
"I say there should be a law, if you cross over in the primary, you must vote that way in the general. That would stop this sort of shenanigans."

“Rush is all about Rush and nothing else,”

Longing for his glory days when the Clintons were in office. A Hillary win just might make him relevant again.

The same things we say about Jesse and Al are true of Rush as well. If there isn’t a perceived boogeyman, they serve no purpose.

“I get e-mails from people worried that I’ve revived Hillary. We don’t have the ability to choose the Democrat nominee. Their nominee is going to be chosen by the superdelegates, not by voters. The point of Operation Chaos has been to extend the primary process, to have these people go at each other’s throats. So we’ve succeeded here even beyond our wildest dreams.” El Rushbo
