HIGH POINT/RALEIGH, NC -- These days, Hillary Clinton is all the rage among conservatives.

Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" -- an attempt to convince his Republican listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in the Democratic primaries -- continues. Last week, Bill O'Reilly turned his "No Spin Zone" into a two-day infomercial for Clinton, featuring an adoring interview in which he lobbed one Katie Couric-style softball after another at his home state Senator.

Conservatives have found common cause with the Clinton machine in seeking to bring Barack Obama down to earth.

RUSH: Why are any of you afraid of this ditz?

RUSH:...Let me play for you what I thought was the most interesting aspect of the interview last night. Those of you watched it may disagree, but it is this exchange that they had about oil prices. O'Reilly said, "Oil prices. You want us to suspend the federal gas tax. So does McCain. Obama doesn't. But when I hear that, I say, 'It's the same old politician stuff because the Democrat Party was opposed, is opposed to ANWR drilling.' You voted against nuclear energy seven times. And I'm saying to myself, 'Both parties, both parties have sold the folks out on energy, when the folks are getting hammered and they should be angry at both parties.' Where am I going wrong?"

HILLARY: Well, here's what I think. I think there's plenty of blame to go around. We're not acting like Americans, Bill. We're not in charge, and I want to put us back in charge. I also want to take on OPEC. You know, OPEC is a cartel, it's a monopoly.

O'REILLY: You want to take them on?

HILLARY: Yes.

O'REILLY: They don't care what you say. They're in Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.

HILLARY: Nine of the 13 biggest oil producing companies that are in OPEC are also members of the WTO. I would file complaints. I would also change the laws so that citizens and businesses could file anti-trust actions. We're going to begin to hold them accountable.

RUSH: What the hell is she talking about? Why are any of you afraid of this ditz? Did you just hear what she said her plan of action is to bring down oil prices? Lawsuits! Against bin al-Weid Taliban Asheed Sahib Skyhook. Do you what bin Talawad Kalabi Asid Sahib Skyhook is going to do when he sees Mrs. Clinton's lawsuit at the World Trade Organization? He's going to make a paper airplane out of it and send it back over here on one of his Airbus A380s. This is how they want to fight terrorism: with lawsuits! OPEC is not a monopoly. There are many oil producing companies that are not part of OPEC. This is incompetence on parade.

“Operation Chaos is playing with fire.”

This is the sentiment I expressed yesterday on the Rush thread and was treated so badly and called everything but a child of God that I’m surprised I’m back today. There is definiteley a rift among conservatives as to the good or bad of Op. Chaos. Asking people to vote for HIllary is just beyond me.

Have no fear! Operation Chaos will NOT result in the nomination of Hillary.

There is no doubt that Obama will be the Democrats nominee. They can't affort for their coalition to fall apart - which is what would happen if the Hildebeast "steals" the nomination from him.

The whole idea of Operation Chaos is NOT to hand the nomination to Hillary - instead it is simply to prolong the bickering as long as possible so that the inevitable (i.e. Obama's nomination) is delayed - which will concomitantly delay his attacks on McCain and strengthen the doubts about him in the general election.

Getting Hillary elected may not be the intent of Operation Chaos, but may very well be the result.

Hillary could have been home licking her wounds from a solid trouncing, but it still around with a chance that superdelegates will come to her side.

Totally agree. It won't take much for her to bag it either. The gap is narrowing every day.

Even the "pledged delegates" could change their minds if they see Obama as losing it.

The genious of OC is that it really doesn’t matter who gets the nomination, McCain is the beneficiary.

There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that Hillary can surpass Obama in the number of delegates so if the Dims do go against their base and select Hillary, the blacks WILL riot in the streets and further spinter the party.

If they DO NOT select Hillary (which is probably 90% certain), we get the weaker candidate and they have already given us enough sound-bites, internal strife and spent so much money against each other that only McCain could possibly be stupid enough to screw it up.
