Hedgehog Hillary Hatin' on Oil Companies
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 05/05/2008 5:23:14 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.—Archilochus (7th-century BC)

Mark Penn might not be appearing before the cameras on Hillary's behalf nowadays, but bet that he is beavering away behind the scenes on his polling. And judging from Hillary's dogged [to mix an animal metaphor] performance on this morning's Today, it's obvious that Penn's turned up one big thing: Dem primary voters hate oil companies.

Meredith Vieira gamely tried to get Clinton onto other subjects during her interview. But no matter the question, the answer was almost invariably the same: I Hate Big Oil. Since the questions were irrelevant, let's dispense with them and simply count the ways in which Hillary expressed her wrath at those evil purveyors of oil.

I'm both trying to give people immediate relief, but also give people the confidence that, once again, they would have a president who got up every day thinking about them and worrying about what was going on in their lives...

Hillary's been attracting huge enthusiastic crowds because she's been talking like this...When she came to my area of PA, people turned out by the thousands...

This poor excuse for an American (let alone for a candidate for president) has only her socialist grasp of economics.

If our good friends, the Saudis, are selling oil for $125/ barrel, our domestic sources should be selling their oil for half that. Right?

No new refineries since 1976. No significant new drilling.

That should tell Americans with brains why the oil companies have decided not to put themselves out of business. President Hillary will do it for them.

Milk costs more than gasoline and is not nearly as expensive to produce. Why aren’t the liberals mad at “Big Milk?” Because the price is determined and supported by the government, that’s why!.

At a campaign stop in NH before the primary, she promised that when she’s elected oil would got to $60-70 a barrel. She must be pressed on this campaign promise.

On April 30, in the "Do Voters Care?" thread:

Do voters care? Yes, they do, but only about two things. American voters care about the price of gas and the value of their homes more than they care about all other issues combined.

You can have oil companies and $4.00 a gallon gasoline, or you can have no oil companies and no gasoline.

Stop being so darn logical. We’ll bash oil companies now, and worry about actually solving problems later. We’ve got an election to win!

This from some elitest who has spent her entire life in the public sector yet still managed to become a multi-multi-millionaire. She doesn't have any idea what goes on in normal people's lives..... nor does she care!

When peoples 401k’s and IRA’s stop growing because all the “excess profits” from companies are sucked into the governments maw, do you think they’ll get a clue? Or will the Dem’s use that for an entirely new attack on capitalism?

"once again, they would have a president who got up every day thinking about them and worrying about what was going on in their lives..."

Don't know about the "once again" part -- the last Clintonista we had got up every day thinking about how to bang the WH interns and which piece of nookie could be enjoyed free of the baleful eye of the Hildebeast.

Hillary Clinton is either

(1) a psychotic moron

or,

(2) one of the worst dishonest, pandering, cynical bozos we have ever had in politics, who truly does believe that “there’s a sucker born every minute.”

Take your pick. I’m tempted to say “all of the above” but I’ll settle for (2).
