ZION, Ill. (AP) - Steve Kreuscher wants a judge to allow him to legally change his name. He wants to be known as "In God We Trust."
Kreuscher (CROY'-shir) says the new name would symbolize the help God gave him through tough times.
The 57-year-old man also told the (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald he's worried that atheists may succeed in removing the phrase "In God We Trust" from U.S. currency.
He recalls that the phrase "God Reigns" was removed from the Zion city seal in 1992 after courts deemed it unconstitutional. Zion was founded as a theocracy - by a sect that believed the Earth was flat.
The school bus driver and amateur artist in the northern Chicago suburb says he has filed a petition to change his name in Lake County Circuit Court.
Guess his first choice of “Throbbing Thrillhammer” was a no-go.
well...beats changing it to “Satan, Prince of Darkness, All Must Bow”
“the bus driver formerly known as steve”
Too much cocaine.
And then he can have the operation REVERSED and change his name to "Stop Calling Me Shirley"
;)
lol
Why not:
“In Hussein We Trust”?
Well see, that’s a nice name. This guy wants his name to be a phrase. Now if you want a neat “phrase name”, and your being in WA state, you could voice your distaste for liberal academia by changing your name to “Evergreen State Sucks Donkey D!ck.” (Or Mohammad’s, whichever better applies). Or: “Evergreen State: We Make Pancakes For Bulldozers.”
Well, it is a helluva drug.
This must be good! Sounds like the stream of illegal immigrants coming across the border has dried up!
Not to mention the threat of terrorism is gone forever and we can all sit around and eat cookies and (pasteurized) cream!
Ooooooopppppps.....
Wrong thread. Shoulda been this one.

First time I did that!
Great idea. Now if someone near him finds a twenty dollar bill he can say “that’s mine”. And the of course the guy will say “I don’t see your name on it” he can say “There it is right there”.
Yet somehow it fits on this thread...
Of course, knowing those clerical errors bureaucracies tend to make, his name would probably appear as “In Goo We Trust.”
Yup. Slow news day.
Like when they have those specials on the nightly news on “How to prevent Hangnails”
Thing is, these days, it’s easy to do something stupid. Then you write a book about what happened and make a million bux.
Long as the dude doesn’t change his name to djf, I don’t give a rats...
In God We Trust is his first name. His new last name is: All Other Pay Cash.
Do you think his request will be approved, or will the court decide the name will be too "offensive?"
