Carolina poll gives Clinton slight lead

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 1 (UPI) -- A poll shows Sen. Hillary Clinton with a narrow lead over Sen. Barack Obama in North Carolina but the pollsters say black voters could be underrepresented.

InsiderAdvantage pegged Clinton, D-N.Y., with 44 percent of the vote to Obama's 42 percent ahead of Tuesday's North Carolina primary; however the poll said the African-American vote is uncertain and may indicate that Obama, D-Ill., is doing better than the numbers indicate.

"Our polling generally does not indicate the eventual compression of black voters that Obama usually enjoys just before Election Day," InsiderAdvantage's Matt Towery told The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer Wednesday. "If that happens, my guess is that he will pull this out."

Towery said that regardless, the results indicate likely from Obama's association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and will force Obama to "split resources between Indiana and North Carolina."

The poll had the undecideds in North Carolina at 14 percent.

The InsiderAdvantage poll surveyed 571 likely votes with a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.

If Clinton wins NC it will create a tsunami. The Dems will be in an epic dilemma. Operation chaos!

Obama’s poll numbers have historically been better than he actually does on election day. A lot of white voters are afraid of being considered racist, so they tell the pollster they’re voting for Barry when the really don’t intend on voting for him.

The poll had the undecideds in North Carolina at 14 percent.

I've been following these primaries closely and in everyone of them, more of the undecideds have broken for Clinton than Obama.

Or they'll say undecided when they're really not.

pollsters say black voters could be underrepresented.

Stopped reading right there. Anyone care to try to figure out what that statement means?

It means they only get to vote once?

I think Operation Chaos is going to put Hitlery Clinton in the White House. We won’t be laughing then. Obama is infinitely the weaker candidate even by McCain. Shrillery will beat McCain. The way Obama has been exposed he is absolutely unelectable. Why can’t we destroy the Clinton’s now have them go away so we don’t have to deal with these miserable people anymore. Keep supporting Hitlery and she might win. God help us all.

My family and I early voted here in NC (Closes in Cumberland County today).

Each time one of us went we noted a heavy African American presence at the centralized polling place. I’m guessing BHO does take NC.

Looking at these numbers one has to scratch his or her head and ask how in the world do you expect to win in a general election with a coalition of African Americans, utes barely old enough to vote, and latte liberals? Good luck.

I think Fauxbama is going to win this one closely and it will still keep the rats in chaos.

"A poll shows Sen. Hillary Clinton with a narrow lead over Sen. Barack Obama in North Carolina but the pollsters say black voters could be underrepresented."

Translation: black voters, when polled, generally responded "Hillary?!? I ain't votin' for dat cracker b*tch!"

In the vast majority of elections, last-minute undecideds break for the better-known candidate. If Hillary’s the nominee in November, they will tend to break for her. If Obama’s the nominee, they will tend to break for McCain.

Wright is perfect for HRC. If he attacks him, then black voters see him as pandering to whites (the Al Sharpton critique). If he doesn’t, then whites think he’s a racist like the Rev.

Wright doesn’t want BHO to win, since a) he’s tight w/ WJC and b) it blows his ideology up.

I haven’t seen a single Clinton sign, and I see Obama signs everywhere.

“I’ve been following these primaries closely and in everyone of them, more of the undecideds have broken for Clinton than Obama.”

You are absolutely right. It seems like more than 2-1 break for the Beast over the Obamination. That’s highly unusual.

I’m going to go with the architect on this one, Karl Rove. The man is very sharp and low key in his analysis. He suggests a split: the Beast easily in Indiana and the Obamination less than double digits in N.C.

That’s enough for the Beast to declare victory and continue on in the hopes of putting the Obamination back onto the liberal plantation.

The media will be wringing their hands. They are getting all worried about their party. I hope to be laughing and enjoying popcorn late Tuesday nite.
