Great Read........
Thank you for the post......great read
A serious question here. Was Iraq worth the deaths of over 4,000 of our bravest?
Quite a testament to our finest...Thanks for sharing.
Yes
Freedom is not a right granted by Americans to Americans. It is a right granted by God to everybody.
Americans have decided that the right given is a right that needs to be protected, and we have done so since the founding of our nation.
From the pseudo-war with France to the current conflict, the blood of Americans has been the currency used to secure freedom not only for ourselves, but for all mankind.
Good stuff here!
Got this last week as an email attributed to a different Retired US Officer. Still trying to trace it’s origin.
We stopped Saddam Hussein from acquiring nuclear weapons.
It would have been much more effective if the Democrats in this county had not made it clear that they were not behind George W Bush. Remember that just after the invasion Syria withdrew from Lebanon, Egypt held elections allowing the opposition to run, and Libya acknowledged that they were abandoning their nuclear weapons programs. Since the left has defanged Bush these folks have been a lot less accommodating.
People tend to forget that Saddam was a very dangerous, bad man. The sanctions were going to whither, of that there can be little doubt. And the Pentagon report showed that Saddam was quite close to Zawahiri and had supported him at Egyptian Islamic Jihad (Not to mention a host of other Islamist terror groups. If Saddam was still in power, the critics would be wailing about how horrible it was that we left him in place and how he posed a serious threat.
That was a cool post, better than cool, did some ops during TET with the Ozites. They are us but speak a different language, Strine.
uhhhhh make that tears of pride. Funny how they blur your vision and you make typo’s.
Those who appreciate this letter might want to listen to Hugh Hewitt's recent interview with Major General Rick Lynch. Very impressive guy doing a very important job in Iraq.
If no risk or loss was ever taken, nothing would ever be gained.

What do you think?
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." John Stuart Mill
YES!

The Australians have stood with us in every war over the past 100 years. We are strengthened by their strengths, and we are honored to have them as our allies. So, backatcha, Mr. Turner: God bless the Australians!
