Al Gore: May Face Potential Global Warming Lawsuit

Can you sue a snakeoil salesman?

Al Gore may be facing a potential lawsuit over Global Warming according to the British newspaper, the Telegraph.

The medicine peddlers used a number of tricks and stunts. The larger traveling shows, employing advance men to herald their arrival, entered town with circus-like fanfare, typically with a band leading the procession of wagons. Skits and other diversions were used to attract audiences, who eventually were treated to the "Lecture" (which, when medicine shows expanded into radio, became the commercial). Assistants who moved through the crowds were often garbed as Quakers to lend an air of moral respectability. Native Americans were frequently recruited to promote the notion of "natural" medicine which was given names like Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills, Seminole Cough Balsam, and various Kickapoo cures (Holbrook 1959, 196-215; Munsey 1970). According to journalist Catherine Elsworth, the former founder of the Weather Channel and meteorologist John Coleman spoke of a lawsuit against Gore during a conference in March, that since then Coleman has received "thousands and thousands of emails with lots of support" and "thousands of these people want to donate to a legal fund to sue Al Gore".

Elsworth noted that Coleman feels the court would be the venue to settle the issues relating to the "hype" of Global Warming, especially those who are involved in selling carbon credits.

Gore's carbon footprint may be the size of Godzilla's, but he eases his conscience with 'carbon offsets.' He buys them from himself. And every time someone else buys them, Big Al gets richer. Source - Investor's Business Daily
Al Gore, the Global Warming Messiah, stands to make literally millions of dollars selling stocks in the tax exempt...

Always remember; If it seems to good to be true, it’s probably not! But I sure hope it’s true.

I DID say that she didn’t have anything to worry about,
because whether it was a coming Ice Age or Global Warming,
the solution is always the same:

Less individual freedom, more government control, a reduced lifestyle, and global socialism.

Hey Al...just think of it...if you get sued and lose it all, you finally can reduce your carbon footprint and you’ll no longer be a hypocrite
you’ll have to live poor, which you don’t know how to do.

Most people with a modicum of greymatter figured out that corrupt lawyer politicians really aren’t weather experts.

It's nothing but a scam by corrupt lawyer politicians to get as much control over the people and amass as much personal power as possible. Ain't nothin' new, just another way to get it.

Those scientists who oppose it are losing funding and being silenced. The UN is recommending global warming policies. Global warming theory is false but Gore and the global warming people are winning.

True, which makes this lawsuit even more important. Time's running out.

Arctic, the main location of any sign of GW:

The forecast by researchers at CU-Boulder’s Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research is based on satellite data and temperature records and indicates there is a 59 percent chance the annual minimum sea ice record will be broken this fall for the third time in five years.

Excellent. His use of the styrofoam glacier scene from the movie “The Day After Tomorrow” in his idiotic slide show may be adequate to get a fraud conviction. He lobbied to have his slide show shown to schoolkids across the country and touted it as “settled” science.

If you do, please ping me.

Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress

Intentional infliction of emotional distress involves outrageous and extreme conduct that goes beyond the bounds of common human decency and causes emotional harm to another. In order for an act or acts to rise to the level of “emotional distress” they must far surpass mere insults, annoyances, indignities and other trivialities.

The conduct must be regarded as atrocious and beyond the bounds tolerated by a civilize society. The act must be so egregious that a reasonable and prudent human being would be unable to tolerate such conduct. An example of such a case would be for someone to falsely inform a parent that their child had just been raped and killed.
The relationship of the parties and the susceptibility of the plaintiff are two other factors that are considered in cases of intentional infliction of emotional distress. If the defendant has been in a position of authority over the plaintiff, then the claim is given more weight. In addition, if the plaintiff had a certain peculiarity or susceptibility that the defendant knew about and took advantage of in an egregious manner, then this is also given more weight in the claim.

In order for a claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress to go forward, the following must be proven:

1. The conduct by the defendant was outrageous or extreme
2. The defendant, by intention or reckless disregard, caused the emotional distress
3. The plaintiff did, indeed suffer emotional distress
4. The proximate cause of the emotional distress was by the defendant’s actions

Bystanders may also make claims for intentional infliction of emotional distress especially if they were in the “zone of danger” for the offense. Some jurisdictions require that the bystander be physically injured or impacted in order to make this claim, while others do not. For instance, some courts hold that the proximity to danger and the fear for one’s own life is enough to cause emotional distress.

Intentional infliction of emotion distress claims may also be a part of slander, libel and defamation of character cases.

Negligent Infliction of Emotional Distress

Negligent infliction of emotional distress is a claim that is not widely accepted by many states and jurisdictions. The legal concept is that Person A owes a duty of care to Person B to take reasonable care to avoid causing emotional distress or injury. Many states have shunned the theory of negligent infliction of emotional distress since it is difficult to define and quantify.

Either intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress claims usually arise out of serious or catastrophic personal injury cases. If you believe that you’ve suffered from an infliction of emotional distress caused by another, then contact a personal injury lawyer who can evaluate the merits of your case.

There are only TWO [2] major contributors to 'Global Warming' or Cooling on Planet Earth -- neither of which we have any control over:

SUN
and
WATER VAPOR

All the rest are minor in comparison.
I suggest we drop him and his kayak in the Pacific, blubbering moron!

The former VP may have to answer in court about some of his more fantastic and/or staged claims he's been making.

But what if Manbearpig really does exist? Do you really want to take that chance?!
