If both Hillary and Obama arrive in Denver with less than a majority, there is a good chance she will decide to fight it out on the floor.

It would be pointless if Obama gets enough currently uncommitted superdelegates to delclare for him prior to the convention. Then the result is a fait acompli. Even Hillary can figure that one out. And who knows, she may agree to be Obama's VP.

The article in New York Times today indicates that she isn't showing any signs of dropping out. Never underestimate the Clintons.

Of course, she is going to say that with the IN and NC primaries just a few days away. Why would she show any signs of dropping out now?

no, there are many fun things that have almost no risk at all...going to the movies, exercising, listening to talk radio, etc...I think Rush is negatively addicted to his cigar smoking. He would be a calmer and more relaxed person without that addiction.

So let me see if I understand this correctly. While the Democrats are in the middle of a heated primary election that have drawn record numbers of democratic voters to the polls and are at each others throats, they still managed to get enough voters out for McCain to make him our nominee? That certainly makes sense! Not. If Republicans cannot send enough voters to the polls to nominate our own candidate then we shouldn't even have a party. The premise is wrong!

Is this post in relation to something I posted, or just relative to what Rush contends? I can't find anything I posted that relates to your comment.

I think you’re right. Living in Texas, the only thing I care about is illegal immigration. All the candidates support amnesty, but McCain is the only one who will refuse to back down in the face of overwhelming opposition from the people of this country. He already showed last time around that he doesn’t care what we think.

This is a rather rough and poor opinion founding an important choice for a great country and the world’s future.

You're obviously free to focus on what you want to.  I believe you are stating that I am only guessing at what could take place, and not doing a very good job of it.

Founding such a crucial choice on the SUPPOSED future behavior of the Congressional Republicans under an hypothetical McCAIN’s administration is rather.... hypothetical....

What is the word John McCain has used to describe himself over the last eight years?  Isn't it Maverick John McCain?  The dictionary defines in part, "Maverick, a lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates.

I'm not opposed to the term Maverick per se, but it depends on what the person does to qualify himself to be one.  We have the Republican party as the guidepost here.  Saying that, it is important to note that we have all come to realize the party has slide considerably left over the years.  Even in Reagan's time, he was a Maverick to the right of conventionl Republicanism.  He was a Conservative, something new to the Republican party starting with Barry Goldwater.  Since Reagan's time the party has changed.  And even where it rests today, McCain qualifies himself as a Maverick, not by positioning himself to the right of it, but considerably to the left of it on many issues.  I don't have to suppose what McCain will do.  McCain has shown us what he will do.

He has been willing to vote for the likes of Ginsberg, Kennedy, and Souter to be confirmed as SCOTUS Justices.  He has been willing to sell out the interest of POWs, so he could usher in normalized relations for Vietnam.  He has advocated the closing of Gitmo and other policies that veer far left of our best interests.  He has demonstrated the willingness to allow foreign nationals to violate our laws and be rewarded for it.

You talk of suppostions, and I address the reality of it all.  As for Congress, and the Senate, who is going to oppose McCain when he sits in the White House?  Please tell me who.

And Congressional Republicans are also elected so they can change!

If McCain can be elected as the consumate leftist he is, what impetus will there be for our Congresscritters to change to move in our direction?

I was precisely saying that CLINTOON’s and OUBAMA’s agenda will be CERTAINLY much more leftist than McCAIN’s or words don’t mean anything and you should stop the electoral process.

John McCain has described Hillary and himself as nearly identical on policy.  You are aware of that right?

I personally think folks are underestimating the support McCain will get from the left. And the RNC sure isn’t going backrupt with it’s representative ensconced in the White House.

Congresscritters aren’t going to oppose him. He got elected based on his political views and proposed policies. If they want a future in Washington they have to play along. No Republican politican wants to be cut off from access to the White House.

I understand where you are coming from, but I’m not sold on the idea you are right. Take a look at the Republicans who have endorsed John McCain and tell me he’ll be abandoned by Republicans once elected. I don’t think you believe that, if you think about it.

Bud, if he doesn’t give a rats arse about our free speech, what makes you think he’ll give a rats arse about any other rights?

You’re giving a leftist almost complete freedom to do whatever moves him. He will have about five Congresscritters and two Senators at the most who will opposed what he wants to do.

Hillary and Obama are certain to have 39 Senators and at least 175 Congressmen who will oppose them.

And the sad thing is, John will be proposing things they’ll sign on to in most instances.

Thank you Exit82. I appreciate the comments. I have asked a number of McCain supporters what he could possibly do that would make them unable to vote for him. I haven’t had that question answered even once.

And so goes the election, the Mighty Conservative Movement fully behind the likes of John S. McCain.

Just who does propose Conservative legislation or policy over the next four years? If John McCain is elected, no one.

The problem with McCain is that he has a record.

The problem with us is that we are willing to ignore it.

Instead Conservatism has become the bastion of unfounded hope.

If your hopes are realized, I’ll be happy to have been proven wrong.

If my reasoning is verified to be sound, you appology will not erase what John has done, or prevent what he will ultimately do.
