Who knew that she was Monica before Monica was?
I type LOL alot...but that one actually made me... laugh out loud.
Oh my, I think I need some fresh air...
Hey, Laz. Baseball players don't count.
has anyone ever heard of Senator Edwald Blook?
Good find — Barbara Walters, the Monica Lewinsky of the ‘70s....
I don’t know why anyone but a pop star or Hollywood slut would imagine that the public should know about their sex life or especially about their adultery, but we live in an era in which the herd of bleating narcissists stampeding over all of us simply cannot wait to “tell all” about themselves.
It used to be that the only “tell all” was about other people. :^)
I think Jane Curtin’s character was modeled on Shana Alexander of “Point Counterpoint.” Now who was the guy Dan Aykroyd was doing? I think it was James Kilpatrick, but I dont recall for sure.
The late, lamented Gilda Radner, of course, immortalized “Baba Wawa.”
Cause she’s an attention whore!
10. Her first question: "How'd you get so dreamy?"
9. Squeals like a schoolgirl every time he tortures a dissident
8. She's wearing his varsity dictator jacket
7. Re-named her newsmagazine "Veinte/Veinte"
6. Told him, "You have led a violent overthrow of my heart"
5. Has same look Diane Sawyer had when she and Khomeini were dating
4. Breakfast, lunch and dinner: pulled pork
3. New sign-off line on "The View": "Socialism or death"
2. When asking him about Camp X-Ray, she accidentally called it "Guantana-marry me"

I recall an interview long ago with Senator Brooke by Lovell Dyett on WBZ. After the Senator left, they were still taking calls and, lo and behold, his DAUGHTER called up. And was she steamed! She practically melted down on the air, it was one of the most bizarre things I ever heard. Her anger was directed at her father for whatever he did to her mother. Looks like we’re finding out what it was. (I think the wife was suffering from some illness or disability)
But as others have said, what in the world is the point in bringing this out now? How many people will be hurt who didn’t have to be?
These things usually take bits and pieces from many.
Yikes, even some Democrats scored higher than that.
After showing disdain for her cretin politician’s family, why does she feel compelled to reveal this to the world?
OK, I haven’t read the article yet... was it perhaps with John Calhoun?
“At least he was a republican. Something tells me this is not Bawas only indiscretion.”
“Fidel boffed her too.”
Sounds like an equal-opportunity skirtlifter!/s;)
You are correct on that, it was based on the 60 Minutes point/counterpoint. Not Baba Wawa.
“his DAUGHTER called up. And was she steamed!”
That would have been Remi Brooke. She and sister Edwina went to the same school I did in the early ‘60s. Remi was quite the drama queen even then. Edwina preferred to be transported in the (then Mass. Attorney General’s) car by the Missus or Dad, while Remi preferred to take the school bus back to Boston. She’d stand in the front of the bus, with a transistor radio glued to one ear, while flirting with the cute, college-age bus driver.
She dished the dirt about her Dad to the media at least as far back as 1978:
A reporter asks Brooke if someone has “an axe to grind” about the settlement. Brooke says that someone peddled this story to the news media all over the state of Massachusetts and in Washington D.C.; that the release of the story coincides with his bid for reelection to the US Senate; that he feels like he is being “blackmailed.” Brooke says that he thinks the story is being used in an attempt to force him to give up more to his wife in the divorce settlement. Brooke admits that his daughter, Remi, is responsible for leaking the story to the media.

I thought it was common knowledge that Babwa slept her way to the top.
