Lesbians of Lesvos fed up of being called lesbians Mytilene, the capital of the Greek island of Lesbos
Dimitris Lambrou is tired of being called a lesbian.
As a magazine publisher on the Greek island of Lesvos Lesbos according to the classical spelling he is suing Greeces biggest gay and lesbian association to get the term (with a small l) expunged from public usage.
He claims it is insulting to what he calls the proper Lesbians the people of Lesvos. We are suffering psychological and moral rape, said Mr Lambrou.
Mr Lambrous magazine, called Davlos (Torch), has been campaigning against the lesbian identification with the island for years, even since gay women around the world made it a place of pilgrimage. The town of Eressos has become known as a world lesbian conference centre.
He and two local women, Maria Rodou and Kokkoni Kouvalaki, are the plaintiffs in the case scheduled to be heard in an Athens court on June 10.
This is ludicrous, countered Evangelia Vlami, a member of the Greek Gay and Lesbian Union, which is being sued. The term has been in use for thousands of years to denote gay women. The Union is now fighting for the right to same-sex marriage in this otherwise devout Orthodox country.
Lesvos was the birthplace of Sappho, a poet who ran a finishing school for well-bred girls in the early 6th century BC. She is reputed to have fallen in love with several of them, especially Atthis, whose concerned parents removed her from the school. Sapphos love poetry, some of the best from antiquity, has since been quoted to prove her homosexual proclivities.

How about carpet....nah, nevermind.
I’m dizzy.
How about “Gaya” LOL!
Vagatarians.
How about fat, dirty, stinky, hairy goddess?
If you're a guy ...
Molon labia?
Kalloni has to be a Greek term for something anatomical.
I’m tired of being called a “typical white person”.
If you're a guy ...
She did no such thing.
She was a leisured aristocrat.
In that time and place children were taught in their own households, usually by slaves hired for the purpose.
Sappho died more than a century before it became acceptable for freeborn individuals to pursue a teaching career.
This claim is an oft-repeated myth.
I feel his pain. I’m not happy that I can’t use the term “gay” for myself when I’m happy!
bookmark to lol @ later. hehehehe
The Sophists were famous in classical Athens of the 450-350 BC as being freeborn men who wandered from city to city teaching young people.
Writings from that period (like Plato's Dialogues) discuss Sophism as an exciting new phenomenon that began with Protagoras, the acknowledged first Sophist, who came from Thrace to Athens around 460 BC.
Up until then, slaves did most teaching, and were still doing elementary teaching in Greece and Rome up until Constantine's time.
Sappho died around 560-570 BC.

That is exactly how I feel about the usage of the rainbow emblem for their perversion in addition to them hijacking such a lovely word and name “GAY”, I believe they should use vulgar words because the acts they commit are vulgar.
