KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- Country star Toby Keith was performing for U.S. troops in Afghanistan last week when the military base he was singing at came under fire, according to People.
Keith and his band were in the middle of the song "Weed With Willie" when mortar fire on the base in Kandahar erupted, sending the band and the troops looking for cover.
"We all ran about 100 yards to a concrete bunker," Curt Motley, the singer's agent who was with him on the USO tour, told People.
Keith is currently on an 18-show USO tour throughout the Persian Gulf.
The singer and his bandmates stayed inside a bunker with the soldiers for about an hour, reportedly signing autographs and posing for photos to pass the time.
Once they were given the sign it was all clear, the country star returned to the stage, against the advice of military personnel.
"He went right to the verse he was in and finished his show!" Motley told People.
...and the Dixie Chicks were unavailable for comment.
He should get ahold of Hillary and tell her what it was like. Maybe she can add it to her “material.”

The Dixie Chicks were busy burying the mortars for the next opportunity.

I was always impressed by the Glenn Miller Orchestra continuing to play as a V-1 was sputtering overhead.

I thought maybe Code Pinkos, Daily Kozer’s, Dim Dhims, Obammyites or Jimmah Cahtah might have been in the audience and were “protesting” a real American and patriot.
But then, none of them have the guts to go to I-rak.
Ya’ll do know he’s voting Dem, right?

I have never regretted the fact that after 9-11, in addition to switching my voter registration from (L) to (R), I also converted to country music....much better crowd.
Good for Toby Keith, he made good use of the down time and then finished the concert!
He's also a rabid Global Warming nutcase. I thought I was mistaken from a previous post, but it was reported again just recently that he's taping a series of spots for YOU to live in grass huts and live off the land while Toby jets around the world.
He can go in the voting booth blindfolded, stab at the ballot sheet, mark both candidates and still vote dem.
