“When I heard he had said”
That’s the problem....why don’t you and all the rest of you “I heard he said’s” go read about it for yourself before you completely discount what he stands for.
Our national defense must come BEFORE we try to defend others, especially those who don't give a sh!t about freedom (theirs or ours). If we had unlimited resources, then policing the world might be under discussion; but we don't, so it isn't.
Our own interests at home are under attack, and we should be taking care of business at home first.
That said, "first" doesn't mean "only" to me -- there are legitimate reasons for fighting terrorists on their soil before they get to ours. I'd like to see that war done with a lot more vigor and get it the hell over with. What good is all our military might if we're afraid to use it???
Mainly, though, I'd like us to defend ourselves at home better, before we worry about what's halfway around the globe.
The Ron Paul supporters are the only ones who are not going to take this “puppeteer” (s)election lying down.
They deserve every conservative’s support.
“Ron Paul is getting real money from somewhere.”
It sure isn’t from Soros like the three other puppets.
“THIS IS A NO BRAINER. If we lose the war as we certainly will if we cut and run from Iraq, we will lose the country. If we lose the country we can kiss our collective ashes good bye.”
And if we lose our sovereignty, our freedoms, our liberties; where are we then?
“Mainly, though, I’d like us to defend ourselves at home better, before we worry about what’s halfway around the globe.”
So you do agree with Ron Paul’s ideas.
“And if we lose our sovereignty, our freedoms, our liberties; where are we then?” maybe the meaning of ‘sovereignty’ means something different where you live. In my country “our sovereignty” is our country’s freedom. In your zeal to disagree you have repeated my argument which I will restate: If we lose the war we lose our country and of course our sovereignty. Our freedoms and liberties are EXACTLY what we would lose if we surrendered as Mr. paul would have us do. If we lost everything but our country we could start again. If we surrender and are overrun by Islamist vermin we could NEVER start again.
“overrun by Islamist vermin we could NEVER start again.”
Well with our borders “wide open” what do you think will happen?
Can’t argue with that. I agree.
I think Paul’s folks should be applauded for giving the party and McCain hell. I cannot support what Paul stands for because of his stance on the war.
I wanted to make this clear.
Now, if you seriously believe withdrawing from an occupation of a defeated country will cause us to lose our own, you've been reading too much Victor Davis Hanson.”
You are painfully and dangerously delusional if you think that killing 20 or 30 thousand Islamists means the war is over and “let's get the boys home for the 4th of July for a big parade.” This war started in the seventh century and has not stopped. Over the past 1400 years the Islamists have constantly plotted the destruction of all of those who do not wish to yield to their perverted world view. Because of them we have two choices: surrender and be killed or enslaved or annihilate them to a man. It really isnt any more complicated than that. Even killing every living Islamist will not free us of the need to defend ourselves again and again in the future. They will and have taken unbelievable beatings, then gone off, regrouped and come back. In 732 Charles Martel's men killed 375,000 of them and they were back in ten years. Please learn so history. These people are seventh century minds armed with twenty first century weapons. We can never let our guard down.
let freedom ping
And replace him with who ? Ron Paul? That guy has even less a chance of beating the communist Obama or the fascist Hillary than McCain has.
If on the other hand he fights like mad in Congress with a grass roots campaign to achieve his goals of changing the attitude in Washington D.C. the country might actually not descend into a fascist/marxist economic goat-roping festival.
I’ll second that.
Someone who knows his history!
I applaud you.
I respect your position.
All conservatives should be behind letting the GOP know “We’re Not Taking It Anymore!”
