Wallace Has 'A Very Friendly Exchange' With Obama
NewsBusters ^ | April 26, 2008 | Noel Sheppard

MSNBC's Dan Abrams and the folks in the liberal blogosphere are going to be very disappointed tomorrow when they witness what Chris Wallace says was "a very friendly exchange" between the "Fox News Sunday" host and Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama.

In fact, despite what Talking Points Memo reported Friday concerning Obama doing the program to "take on Fox," as well as Jonathan Kim's ("Fox Attacks") recommendation on MSNBC's "Verdict" that the junior senator from Illinois should "[go] on and just [attack] them," it appears Chris and Barack had an exceedingly civil and informative discussion about the campaign and the issues facing the nation.

Imagine that.

As he was driving home from his meeting with Obama, Wallace called in to give a preview of the interview to FNC's "Weekend Live"

It was a wide-ranging interview. We talked about Gen. Petraeus, who the president just named the head of Central Command. He made a very sharp attack on John McCain's economic policy. We talked some politics, the problems he's had reaching out to white, working-class voters, Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers. And we also talked about Hillary Clinton's challenge for another debate before North Carolina and Indiana in a little more than two weeks. [...]

It was a very friendly exchange. I think we asked him the questions that Fox viewers want to hear, and I think they'll be interested in his answers. But, he very much, clearly wants to reach out to the kind of moderate to conservative Democrats and Republicans who watch Fox, and I think he's, as I say, very much wants to get away from any sense that he's a creature or a captive of the left. That was very clear throughout his, more than a half-hour that we sat down and talked to him. And I think, I get the impression he'll come back on Fox because there's millions of people who watch Fox.

In the end, this is exactly why folks like Abrams, Kim, and people in the liberal blogosphere don't want their candidates on Fox.

After all, since Wallace is indeed one of the best interviewers on television today, the extreme left just can't abide the possibility their candidates will come across better on Fox than on networks whose political leanings are more like their own.

And, they certainly don't want their candidates doing anything that might be construed as moving to the center. Just ask Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller.

That said, it's going to be fascinating to see how the Netroots and their idols on MSNBC respond to what looks like is another in a seemingless endless litany of fair and balanced interviews on "Fox News Sunday."

Stay tuned.

“If God is not for us & against whites, then he is a murderer, and we’d best kill him.”

This kind of says it all..When he stands in judgement before the Father, he will ask him, “but aren’t you for black men?” And I suspect that our Lord will tell him, I am for all men.

I e-mailed Chris Wallace with the following topic to present to Obama. Chris whimped out:

In 1995 Obama stated: "These are mean, cruel times, exemplified by a 'lock 'em up, take no prisoners' mentality that dominates the Republican-led Congress" and "that white Americans couldn't care less about the profound problems African-Americans are facing." See http://www.chicagoreader.com/features/stories/archive/barackobama/

Here is the an extended portion of the article containing the quote:

"This doesn't suggest that the need to look inward emphasized by the march isn't important, and that these African-American tribal affinities aren't legitimate. These are mean, cruel times, exemplified by a 'lock 'em up, take no prisoners' mentality that dominates the Republican-led Congress. Historically, African-Americans have turned inward and towards black nationalism whenever they have a sense, as we do now, that the mainstream has rebuffed us, and that white Americans couldn't care less about the profound problems African-Americans are facing."

"But cursing out white folks is not going to get the job done. Anti-Semitic and anti-Asian statements are not going to lift us up. We've got some hard nuts-and-bolts organizing and planning to do. We've got communities to build."

[end of excerpt]

Obama not only made a racial generalization, but the generalization imputes evil to the targets of the generalization. It would be evil for any American, white or otherwise to not care about problems facing African-Americans. Obama's statement is 100% racist. He needs to be confronted with this statement. Nobody has done so. I cannot read Obama's mind. I don't know if he is a racist. But I cannot explain how such a statement can come from the mouth of a non-racist. I am shocked that Obama is allowed to get away with this. I cannot recall another instance of a candidate for a major office getting away with a statement as blatently wrong as this. I am truly shocked by this.

Funny but he was a tool of the conservatives when he nailed Clinton with tough questions.

Explain that one if you will.

America’s chickens coming home to roost

Jeremiah Wright is Obama’s chicken coming home to roost...

IMHO Barak Hussein Obama is a racist muslim, not a christian, otherwise he never would have set foot in that racist church, he spent 20 years in, after the first sermon.

Chris Wallace is a quality news guy. When he was banging Clinton with hard questions he was a conservative a-hole. Now he’s a Trojan Horse Dem?

Should have had Brit Hume, Hugh Hewitt or Mike Rosen asking the questions. Wallace is an intellectual lightweight.

“If Obama had only taken in Newt Gingrich as his principle advisor he could have been the next President.”

No, BO doesn’t need Whitey to advise him on anything. There are large numbers of very smart and America-loving Black Americans who could have been BO’s advisers — Sir Walther Williams is only one of them. But BO is not the type of person to feel at ease in this respectable and upright group.

Sorry to disillusion you but Obamasama has many "white" advisors ~ William Ayers, the bombmeister, is white, and then there's his Communist speechwriter, and Teddy Kennedy.

Yes, we must admit, Teddy too is white, to our shame. Maybe he needs to be expelled from the race eh.

What ever gave you the idea that Obamasama is run by a bunch of black guys ~ far from it. He's little more than the latest friendly face happy Negro tossed up by the Comintern!

Which would be irrelevant. What you had were a couple of nice guys having a nice discussion. Women eat these two up ~ although they both seem oblivious to that.
