Lets see air bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Afghanistan , Diego Garcia and oh yeah......Iraq. Not too mention a few places we won’t discuss here. Now add the carrier task forces and conventional subs that can be on station in hours. Turn off Iran with carbon fiber and jamming, set loose the in country free Iranian forces to produce an orchestrated level of mayhem and disruption that country hasn’t seen since the Shah left. Relocate Iraqi patriots away from the border. Inform Iranians with leaflets and forced communications into Irans communities along the border with Iraq to leave in 24 hours or die. Then turn the mile on either side into a DMZ with air dropped mines, cluster bombs , other munitions and sensors . Monitored by UCAV’s and 6 man LP/OP’s with on call air........

You are correct, although the burden of proof lies with the attacker to justify his actions. As another poster has written, Iran's actions with respect to covert and overt attacks on others is becoming increasingly brazen.

Indeed, based on a news report of just the last few days about Iranian munitions being found in Basra with very recent date markings it appears to me that Iran is begging for the US to attack it. Recall that the Iranian President, I'mInAMoodForJihad says that he intends to bring about the return of the "12th Imam", his Messiah who can only come after sufficient chaos has erupted on earth.

Well, it appears the Iranians think they should help as much as possible to foment that chaos. Such people are beyond irrational. Their rational calculus can only be addressed by destroying their ability to disrupt the rest of society. We must act first and soon, or risk paying a far higher price later. I fear that the West doesn't have the character to face these facts.

Calgary reminded me of El Paso for some odd reason. Dry climate frontier towns just east of the the nothern and southern tips of the rocky mountain range. Your foothills are a little more impressive than ours.
