U.S. Senator Ken Salazar has asked today that the owner of 850 KOA "reprimand" Rush Limbaugh for what Salazar calls Limbaugh's "clear exhortation" for riots during the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Limbaugh said earlier this week that he is not calling for a riot in Denver in August but only "dreams" of it, to the tune of "White Christmas."
"Now, I'm not inspiring or inciting riots. I'm dreaming. I'm dreaming of riots in Denver," he said mimicking the holiday tune.
But Salazar, in a letter sent today to Clear Channel Radio, the owner of KOA, characterized Limbaugh's comments as "incendiary."
"As I read Mr. Limbaugh's comments about riots at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, they appear to me to be a clear exhortation that those riots are exactly what he wants to happen," said Salazar. "For that kind of incendiary comment, I ask Clear Channel to reprimand Mr. Limbaugh."
Kris Olinger, director of AM programming for Clear Channel Denver, said that Limbaugh is syndicated by Premiere Radio Network , the syndication arm of Clear Channel.
"We passed the letter along to Premiere," said Olinger. "They obviously are going to take Senator Salazar's comments and consider them."
It was a dumb comment. Is Rush trying to be a right wing version of Bill Ayres?
I am sure Rush won’t reimburse the store owners who lose merchandise in these riots or even will be there to comfort all the LEO’s that are recuperating from injuries inflicted by a bunch of trust fund anarchists in Denver this summer.
What did he say? I didn’t hear it - did he do it yesterday (Friday)? I hope it was decisive and good, not that it will be reported, of course.
It’s hard to get a soundbite back in its box, unfortunately, and I’m surprised he was unaware enough to give them one, because he must know they’re always looking for something.
Did you listen at all on Friday?
The group RECREATE 68 is planning hijinx and these are exactly the types he is referring to rioting.
It’s all taken out of contect, which was...Won’t the Dems look bad after a bloodbath, brokered convention that coronates Hillary and is followed by the Dems doing their usual “demonstrations?
You bet your butt they will look bad and whatever shows the REAL ‘Rat party to America is a good thing.
Operation Chaos is a total success and this is another faux controversy.
When Rush put the "Operation Chaos: Nuclear Option" logo with an animate GIF file with flames flickering, I said "That's it!" "That is my dream of Denver!"
Re-create '68!
I have a family member on DPD, so I was less than thrilled about these stupid remarks. The lefties and anarchists are always attacking Denver in any case, so why give them an excuse to blame it on conservatives?
Having said that, his mother and father were very conservative and yes he ran as a conservative when he ran for the Senate seat held by Ben. I guess Washington D.C. and all the Demonrats in congress got to him.
Personally I thought he would remain a Conservative, but I too am disappointed in him.
I didn’t hear it on Friday, as I said. I know what “Recreate 68” is doing and I am sure that Rush was not really egging them on, but it was a stupid thing to say and now they’ll be able to blame Rush for something they were planning on doing all along. The press is already all over this and the problem is that their version is the accepted one, so he’s got to come up with a better soundbite that will go beyond his radio show.
And while they waste their energy lying about Rush’s true intentions, the drive-by media ignore the fact that Fat Al Sharpton is threatening to shut down NYC.
Barrie Hussein has suggested it in thinly veiled rhetoric himself.
You can bet your last dollar that the democrap heirarchy called Salazar at home and insisted that he get involved in this and play the heavy.
Laughable when you consider:
A) what is uttered by libtard media mouths like Keith Olberman, Bill Maher et al and
B) the rhetoric of many of the donks in the US Senate.
No, you don't. By your statement, you imply that he only prospers when Dems are in office. Looking at my calendar, a Repub. has been in office since 2000 and his audience or income hasn't suffered at all.............Nice try
I’m pretty sure Salazar doesn’t have the courage to send a letter to ‘Recreate 68’ or to Sharpton. and he’s just about to learn that he doesn’t have the brains to keep from threatening (in writing, no less) Rush’s first amendment rights.
He ran as a conservative Democrat?? Regardless, it’s naieve to think anybody in the democrat party would stand up against the mainstream party heirarchy.
Democrats are PUNISHED when they veer away from the lock-step of party behavior. Salazar had to know this.
Does Rush have influence on liberals where he can command them to riot?
If anything, Rush’s comments will prevent riots from happening during an event that seems to be shaping up into a riot fest because the libs would look like they are following Rush’s orders.
I don’t quite see it that way but respect your opinion.
I think this is much ado about nothing just because it is so en vogue to attach Rush.
Articles have been written about Recreate68 before all this. The Denver version of SWAT is conducting special training in anticipation of such events.
And regardless, this is a whacko anti-war group that is going to do something simply to draw attention to War opposition. Their leaders have conducted meetings with DPD in regards to arrest procedures and asking to be “handled with care”
I have been secretly hoping to watch lefty loons follow through on threats of lighting up a few cars after Obama is snubbed in a massive coup, thus totally turning off the country to the Dem. party.
Since when should anyone do what he says?
Is he your master?
Are you talking about Limbaugh or the face you see in the mirror every morning?
There is a good ole sayin out Texas way. "All Hat, No Cattle".
Sen Salazar has a reading comprehension problem addled by his partisanship.
Just damn!
One might think the (D)s learned their lesson after Sen Reid (D-Nev) "thought" Rush's comments about "Phony Soldiers" were directed @ actual members of the military.
Crikey, they DO think their supporters ARE that dumb to buy it a 2nd time!
Wow.
You are such a profound debater I'm scared to mess with you.
