...does anyone really think “he's learned his lesson” when it comes to amnesty?

If McCain thinks he can smooth talk his way to victory in November he's got a tough uphill battle. I haven't seen anyone swooning over him like they faint for Obama. A little straight talk about your opponent's terrorist, anti-American, communist friends and supporters can only help the campaign.

"Senator McCain's medical history is well known. His left jaw looks rather pronounced. His sanity and his temper is often questioned. The American people, not just the GOP before he actually gets the nomination, deserve to know the results of his current medical status, including imaging studies, IMHO. "

I agree wholeheartedly. I have a relative who was prescribed 'experimental' level doses of oral prednisone (a steroid) for an infection, but he was required to be examined psychologically, because that drug causes physically- the chipmonk cheeks, and mentally- instability (many symptoms including 'roid rages). I think the country deserves to know if McCain is taking on a regular basis any psychoactive drugs.

Gee, this election really stinks. We're either going to be stuck with 4/8 years of Hilbama or 4/8 years of McCain as president and head of the GOP... At the rate he's going his PC Gestapo will have purged anybody remotely conservative from the ranks of the GOP power structure before the end of his first term... And wait until his people decide to cut off financial and other party support to any Republican candidate that McCain feels is "Out of touch with reality".

Of course being out of touch with reality, as defined by McCain is:

1. Being Critical of Democrats

2. Not willing to sacrifice any and all principles for the sake of "getting along" with Democrats and "getting things done".

3. Not supporting Amnesty for Illegals or the global warming hysteria

4. Advancing those "outdated" conservative principles of Reagan.

Political Correctness is nothing but a dangerous meme perhaps the most dangerous one of all as it acts as a control mechanism on political & intellectual expression. I am convinced that if Adolf Hitler were running for public office in toady’s environment: his political opponents would be the ones accused of being “extreme” for simply pointing out the truth about him. Political Correctness has made it so that those who point out the extremism of others are THEMSELVES now called “extreme”. This is a bit like accusing someone of murder for simply detecting a killer.

Sweet Jesus.

Every time Clinton and Obama open their mouths, I swear that I will vote for McCain just to make sure they don't have a chance to win the presidency.

Then McCain opens his piehole, and I feel compelled to toss it all away and vote 3rd party because I simply can't stand his arrogance.

Freepers, please help me: Has there ever been a time in this great nation of ours when voters had to choose between such shallow, dangerous, egotistical candidates?

And what did our great nation do?

God, I hate this election....

If I vote obama, it will be selling out my beloved country...

If I vote hillary, it will be selling out my beloved country...

If I vote mcpain, it will be selling out my beloved country...

Voting for mcpain will be like watching your mother-in-law go over a cliff in your new Lexus...mixed feelings.

Are we ever again going to get a candidate we can belive in in this country? Is Reagan really going to be the only conservative in American history to had a set?

Hell, why don't we just invite chavez up from South America to take over, or maybe armadenjhad (sp?), or Putin. If we put b.hussein.obama in, it will be the same results.

hillary...well, we've got slick willie all over again if we get her..."slick wilma"?

And mcstain...oh what to do about mcstain. Maybe we should remember the old adage about "keeping your friends close, and your enemies closer" and put one of the dems in.

Nahhhhhhh

The last time Replicans had any hangdowns was when Newt and his bunch took over with the "Contract with America"...of course, it didn't take long for the press to neuter newt, and scandalize the rest of the pubbies out of office.

And where is newtie now...he's going algorian global warming ads with pelosi, queen of the dems.

Will the last American to leave Washington D.C. please bring the flag.

But, maybe that's the problem...maybe there are no more Americans IN Washington, D.C.

I would like to start a campaign for the next few Congressional elections called "NO INCUMBENTS". Do one of those circles with a slash though it, with "No Incumbents" in the center.

The more we try to polish the turd that we now call "congress", the worse it stinks. I say, throw them ALL out - and that means ALL parties - and put some Americans in there. It couldn't get any worse, and it would send a strong signal to all the newbies that we won't put up with any more sh*t from Congress...or your a$$ will be booted out next time 'round.

I know at least 3 of you are going to tell me all the legitimate reasons this "can't be done", but it sure as hell sounds good...and it would be very, very refreshing to most all Americans.

Pardon the rant. Here's a Second Amendment Special.

It's About The Second Amendment And Nothing Else

Laws alone can't stop violence: Obama

Trigger Happy MUST READ We got a friend!

Shameless example of disregarding law Archy provided the "color of law" citation.

America's 'safety catch' - Despite the fact there are more than 200 million guns in circulation...

Gun fanatics should stop using tragedies to promote ideology that 'more guns equals less violence'

Believe it or not. With a title like the last link, I got at least two "Where's the mega barf alert"?

From time to time, I’ll ping on noteworthy articles about politics, foreign and military affairs. FReepmail me if you want on or off my list.

I guess Rush also has an Operation Chaos for Republicans. We have one flawed candidate who will be our nominee. Instead of rallying around what we have in common with McCain, Lower taxes, strong defense, etc, we act like democrats and call names and throw away any potential advantage that we gain through the Dims bickering, by bickering ourselves.

Our primaries are done. Fred, Paul, Keyes, D.H. aren’t going to save us. Man up, be a team player, obey the rules, and start fighting the enemy, not our allies.

“We can’t have an honest discussion with the left. It’s no time to refuse weapons given to the GOP when the only weapons we really have are the opposition’s own words. The left has infected all politics with its vile political correctness so much that conservatives can’t say anything about domestic politics without being called mean, sexist, racist or homophobic. “

No, the idea of having an honest discussion w/the left is like the idea of having one with Iran, Hamas et al - hopeless to think that their minds will be changed in the slightest. As to your latter point, WHY are we so worried about what names we’re called for speaking the truth and simply stating facts? Indeed you’re right also about McCain needing to use any opportunity he’s being given as well. He’s gonna need it big-time. This latest NC fiasco -WTF was he thinking?? Nothing like killing 3 birds with one stone - delighting the libs and giving them more negative ammo, angering reps/conservatives whom he so badly needs, and taking the anti-federalist side (core belief of historical Reps) and intruding on a state’s business, trying to dictate political policy - absolutely out of line

Excellent essay. Mega kudos. Only suggestion I’d have is with the header. Instead of “Straight talk express is retired” maybe it should read “Straight talk express is derailed” or “Straight talk express gets FOUR flat tires”

McCain will go down as the nicest candidate to ever LOSE AN ELECTION!!!!

His unwillingness to 'play hardball'--will win plaudits from the MSM--but will guarantee the election of President B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken according to McCain) Obama!!!

“almost all of our ills can be traced back to Democrats... Our economy sucks because of left wing handicaps of printing fiat currency, easy credit, over regulation of industry, entitlement spending, etc. Our economy is going nowhere fast without cheap energy, energy independence, spending discipline and entitlement reform.”

The dims suck. That goes without saying. But it’s hard to blame them for all our ills when the Repubs had control of the Presidency and Congress for six years and only managed to screw up everything even worse than it was. Time to clean house and take back our party.

ABSOLUTELY!! It looks like he's growing a golf ball in that left jaw. What's going on???
