That’s your opinion. I am of a different one.

But if you want to use an “objective standard,” even in his worst years McCain got 60% or higher marks from the ACU, averaging out at 82% lifetime rating. So that is some kind of a conservative.

Bush isn't a conservative either.

In my book, he looks like John Birch compared to Ol' Senility.

They might retire. They might die. They might stay. You can’t predict this.

I’ve been here 3 years longer than you and I’m not going anywhere. You’re just going to have to accept the fact that not every CONSERVATIVE is a wawawawawa cry-baby take-my-marbles-home-cause-I-didn’t-get-my-way.

Get over it.

Accept it.

It’s called reality.

No, he is not. I cannot wait for him to go back to KennedyBunkMatePort and leave politics to his betters.

Sorry. Not good enough. The self-appointed arbiters of TRUE CONSERVATISM here on FR represent the only opinion that counts. The ACU? Fuggitabout it. Not pure enough for the purists on this thread.

Not a huge fan of McCain but there are some on this thread
who think Obama or Hitlery will pick a conservative Republicans for Supreme court or they would support McCain

These delusional folks are not directly voting for the democrats but voting third party which will put in a democrat who will do far worse than why they hate McCain.

No, not really. McCain is more conservative certainly on spending and entitlements. Recall who voted against Bush’s trillion-dollar prescription drug plan.

He is most likely to “reach across the aisle”, form a bipartisan commission and use those so chosen as nominees - and get great press for it too!

Speaking of the ages of the justices...

How old was Rehnquist when the media started their hue&cry that he was really getting old, too old to be on the Supreme Court, and asking at every opportunity when he was going to step down? He was a heck of a lot younger than Stevens 88, because he passed away at 79.

Of course, the media was only concerned about his health, not about getting conservatives of the USSC...

I didn’t say he’s a perfect president, since no president has ever been perfect. I said he’s a good president.

Unfortunately I can count the number of TRUE CONSERVATIVE presidents in the past century or so on no hands.

Damn good point.

This would be the same President Bush that McCain has attacked in the past?
The same one whose tax cuts he voted against, time after time?
The same one that he dissed over GITMO and waterboarding?
The same one that he just spit on in New Orleans?

That President Bush?

And you know this for sure?

Seems to me you are the wawawa cry baby. Everytime I read one of your posts I imagine you stamping your little foot in frustration that we won’t blindly go along with the program.

Get over it.

Accept it.

It’s called reality.

I guess I'll vote for McCain in November, considering the alternatives, but currently I'm very disappointed in him. Plus, I have no plans to send him any money.
